Aurora Cannabis (ACB) on Wednesday said it launched its CBD product Bidiol in Uruguay, the first cannabis oil produced domestically in the South American country.
The company said the cannabidiol oil is licensed in the country for the treatment of refractory epilepsy in children and adolescents.
"The launch of Bidiol has been two years in the making and is an integral part of our renewed strategy in Uruguay. We have prioritized key international markets with the potential to meaningfully expand their patient base. Our efforts include working alongside governments and local partners to do what works best in each market," chief executive Miguel Martin said in a release.
Bidiol is available in 3% and 10% strengths and comes in 10 and 30 milliliter bottles.
Aurora shares closed down C$0.02 to C$8.62 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
