Forgot to mention AMC issued at-the-market shares at the beginning of this event, and many were trading to #saveamc.

Prices had a strong push down during middle 27th aftermarket close and 28th premarket close (institutional sizes) then fell to $6.52 LOW where shorts may have covered their positions.

On September 14, 2018, Silver Lake Alpine invested $600 million in AMC Entertainment, the global film exhibition company.
450M + 117M = 567M
was fine but looks like there were other inside traders in during premarket looking at the volume.

D1, which ended the month down about 20%, was short AMC and GameStop, said people familiar with the fund. One of the people said D1 had exited both positions by Wednesday morning but that those were small drivers of losses. Another factor was shares of travel-related companies declining. -WSJ
