AUD - BEARISH 1️⃣ Rising tensions between Washington and Beijing saw investors retreat from the risk sensitive Aussie. 2️⃣ Heightened concerns over another COVID-19 outbreak in Australia continue to weigh on the AUD. 3️⃣ Reserve Bank of Australia warned that its economy would fall by 6% over 2020 before rising by 5% next year and 4% in 2022 due to extreme uncertainty caused by the pandemic.
USD - BULLISH 1️⃣ President Trump signed four executive actions to extend stimulus to workers, after Democrats and the White House failed to reach an agreement on a coronavirus stimulus relief bill last week. 2️⃣ Investors turned to safety on escalating tensions between the US and China after Beijing said it would impose sanctions on 11 US politicians in retaliation for similar measures imposed by the Trump administration. 3️⃣ US jobs report showed the economy added more jobs than expected in July 2020 and unemployment dropped.
