It just amazes me on how anyone can be brazenly bullish on airline stocks or the aviation industry. Its already mid-June and we haven't seen COVID letting up. Before you know it, its winter again and we get a B wave rebound of COVID. Traditional industries in travel and tourism have already taken the full blow of this pandemic. How many international flights can you see on trip.com?
Either price of air tickets will explode to 3 times its normal or we will see the bust of entire fleets of carriers, including national brands. Boeing, being the head honcho of the aviation industry will NOT be able to maintain its business model without some sort of event that requires a massive amount of plane orders. This includes conflicts at international level as well.
I dont always care about fundamentals but in this case, it is too hard to ignore. And, the risk reward is just too great not to take a short. ALthougn we can never predict markets, we can definitely see the numbers on paper. Just my two cents worth.
