============================================================================ Bitcoin Cash (BCCBTC) Trading on Binance - 2018-11-03 to 2018-11-05 ============================================================================
Forks, shmorks! Personally, I couldn't care less what the "news" is about Bitcoin Cash. What I care about are two things: volume and volatility. As long as other traders are trading a token pair and the price is swinging, I'm in.
This was definitely the case with BCCBTC over the past two days. Lots of volatility, and, of course, lots of risk as well. For me, I ended up well in the black after trading fees, but there were a couple of stop losses that were just bad "luck." And by luck I mean poor entries on my part.
Reviewing the chart above, my indicator signaled 18 trades over 36 hours of trading. Taking profit at 1% with a trailing stop that gets progressively larger with each percent of gain means some decent results. 30% in total gains is reasonable here depending on your trailing + stops.

Here's a quick list of BCCBTC trades over the past two days. These exact trades can be made with the following two tools:
Chart period: 5 minute, VP Gauge setting: 5, Alert Crossing Up over -5
2) An automated trading bot that buys on my signal and sells using a trailing stop once hitting a specific price gain (Gunbot + Trailing Stop - Stop Limit (TSSL) or any other bot that supports a trailing stop is perfect!)
Trade #1 - 6.5% (1 hour)
Trade #2 - 1% (5 minutes)
Trade #3 - 1.4% (25 minutes)
Trade #4 - 1% (10 minutes)
Trade #5 - 3.5% (2 hours)
Trade #6 - 4.2% (1.5 hours. Finally a decent gain!)
Trade #7 - 2.8% (45 minutes)
Trade #8 - -2.5% (Stopped out in 25 minutes here)
Trade #9 - 1% (Recovering some fees. 40 minutes)
Trade #10 - 3% (50 minutes)
Trade #11 - 1.2% (10 minutes)
Trade #12 - 1.1% (25 minutes)
Trade #13 - 4% (1 hour, 2 minutes)
Trade #14 - 3% (2.5 hours)
Trade #15 - -1.7% (35 minutes)
Trade #16 - 2.4% (1.5 hours)
Trade #17 - -2% (1 hour)
Trade #18 - 2% (35 minutes)
With my VPG indicator set to 5 on a 5 minute chart, things started to get a bit risky when the dump began yesterday. A higher setting (8-10) would smooth out the area chart and prevent so many dips below -5, triggering the alert. However, you would get fewer trades as well.
Trading faster also requires watching the chart and closing out some trades by hand. While I definitely recommend using automation as much as possible, I don't recommend letting it take care of everything. At times, you need to make the decision to either take profit or stop out early to prevent further losses.
What are your thoughts? Have you been cashing in with BCCBTC or did you spend your weekend doing something a bit less nerdy??
