It looks to me that governments are intimidated by the potential crypto has on the financial system of the world.
Getting down to the basics of what if and what would you do if you had the power to change things on a global scale.

Even with todays energy sector so much is wasted on a daily basis. MIning bitcoin is using that wasted energy
even though the abundance of mining rigs in certain locations is demanding on the grid.
Converting to electric cars will be in high demand for the future so if bitcoin mining is too demanding on the grid
think about what the millions of cars charging will have.
I'm not speculating on this any further or i would be writing a book.
