ETH is the backbone, the oil, the silver (if compared to btc) of the crypto industry.
It gave life to the crypto world of the smart contract as we know it today. Thanks to ETH we have other tokens like Litecoin, Link, Sand etc.. but also much more important tokens like tether or usdc.
This gives ETH a huge popularity amongs crypto investors and it makes it the most important project in the crypto world, if not the most realiable (for now).
So you want to invest in crypto and you are not sure where to allocate your money? Ethereum could be a good choice given its popularity.
RIght now eth is in a consolidation lasting for one year. Generally consolidation takes to new impulses and tops dont come with low volume.
So you will say: we had a top with huge volume in may, the cycle is finish!
And i will reply that it's not right. Cause if it was a top it wouldn't been followed by a higher high with a potential higher low, but it would have been followed by a susbsequential crash with no higher highs for long time.
This is a very simple reason to explain very easily why the top is not in and there's still room to grow further.
I believe the top for eth could be around the 1.618 (10k) and the 2.618 (14k). This would take eth at a 1T$ valuation. It's very possible!
