As of the week of March 18, the speculative net long position of COMEX gold futures increased by 18,008 lots to 200,157 lots, the speculative net long position of COMEX copper futures increased by 8,739 lots to 22,403 lots, and the speculative net long position of COMEX silver futures increased by 7,398 lots to 49,645 lots.
As of the week of March 18, the speculative net long position of WTI crude oil futures decreased by 22,909 lots to 56,328 lots, and the net long position of natural gas futures in NYMEX and ICE markets decreased by 34,429 lots to 298,465 lots.
As of the week of March 18, speculative traders turned to shorting the dollar, the first time they shorted the dollar since Trump's victory, and the net long position of the euro was 59,425 lots. The net long position of the British pound was 29,402 lots, and the net short position of the Swiss franc was -34,375 lots.
As of the week of March 18, fund managers cut their net long position in the S&P 500 CME by 9,572 lots to 832,269 lots, and stock fund speculators cut their net short position in the S&P 500 CME by 9,127 lots to 195,491 lots.
