In the U.S. due to the coronavirus pandemic there was a shortage of gold bullions and coins on the free market. This is reported by Deutsche Welle.
The deficit of gold appeared as a result of the collapse on the stock exchanges. Dealers sold all stocks of gold, and some of them temporarily closed. Large Swiss financial conglomerate Credit Suisse Group AG, which casts gold bars, asked buyers "not to bother with circulation.
Bankers from Wall Street appealed for help to the Royal Canadian Mint, which has already recorded an unprecedented increase in demand for gold bars.
