AFTER FOMC PROJECTION

The Federal Reserve is preparing for its first interest rate cut since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020, USA TODAY reported.

The Federal Open Market Committee is expected to lower its benchmark rate, currently at its highest level in 23 years, during Wednesday's meeting. While economists do all agree that a rate cut will happen, forecasts are varying between a 0.25 or 0.5 percentage point reduction.
