TRENDSTAR INDICATOR (Best on 5Min chart)Hi Everyone!
I have created a new TradingView indicator for DAY TRADERS!
The most important indication of trend in day trading is price action, all other indicators are lagging indicators! (BHAAV BHAGWAN CHE)
However, price action and candlestick patterns can become misleading if seen on a blank chart.
A day trader needs to identify levels where price action actually matters!
INTRODUCING TRENDSTAR INDICATOR -
A powerful tool for day traders to enhance their trading strategies and make more informed decisions at the right time during the day:
- Works on Index and Large Caps. (only NSE)
- Auto plots key levels daily at open.
- Refined Buy/Sell signals.
- The ZONE is used to identify trend and plots dynamic S/R area.
(When the zone is blue - trend is bullish and bearish when its orange)
ZONE can also act as a S/R area and can be used for short term (1-2 days) trades.
- Works best in 5M time frame for that spot on DAY TRADE everyone is looking for BUT you have to be patient for the levels to be breached.
- 1M/3M scalping works as well.
- Can set alerts for breach of any of the levels.
UNDERSTANDING THE LEVELS:
Blue dotted line - Pivot for the day
Green line - S/R level on the higher side (breakout can trigger fresh buys)
Red line - S/R level on the lower side (breakdown can trigger fresh shorts)
Purple line - the joker level of the day (on certain days it acts as an iron clad S/R level)
Black dotted lines - Extreme S/R zones for the day.
I am currently sharing this indicator on invite-only basis.
DM me on twitter @techtrademusic for access.
Best wishes,
FIVSTA.
Top 3 Intraday Trading StrategiesTo get success in intraday trading, requires dedication, hard work, patience, quick wit, and immense knowledge. Successful day trading involves 10% execution and 90% patience.
To gain expertise in day trading and honing trading skills, it takes a fair amount of time. There are a number of Best Intraday trading strategies available for trading, but the success or failure of the strategy completely depends on the market. Maybe one strategy works in today’s market condition but may not work according to the next day’s market condition. Not only, does the movement of the market, but the intraday trading strategy also depends on the trading styles of the trader. It also varies at different times of the day, depending upon how the market is behaving.
Here, in this post, you will find Effective Day Trading Strategies, which you can use for intraday trading.
Intraday Trading Strategy :
1. News Based : News-based trading is the most traditional form of day trading. This type of trader doesn’t focus on the stock price and volume charts, they wait for information that will drive the prices.
The information may come in the form of a company announcement about earnings or new products; a general economic announcement about interest rates or unemployment; or just a lot of rumors about what may or may not be happening in a given industry.
Traders who do good with news-based trading , usually have some understanding and knowledge of the markets. These types of traders are not expert analysts or fundamental researchers, but they have enough knowledge about what kind of news would be in-favor or what would be taken poorly by marketers. They also pay attention to a few different news sources and also whenever they find the right opportunity, they place the order at the right time.
The downside of news trading is that there may be few and far good events; more often, the hype is already built into the price by the time you watch it. Many news traders turn to the scalp while they wait for something to create a little excitement.
Before you start news-based day trading, one thing you should keep in mind is that, this type of trading strategy is very risky as compared to other strategies. It also gives high returns on investment within a day.
2. Gap + B.B. (S20,2): This strategy is useful when the stock/ Index opens Gap Up or Gap Down.
After the gap, the stock shows a potential reversal sign, which can observe by the place of a candlestick or by a heavy volume event. You can fade the action and go in the opposite direction of the gap with a profit target at the start of the gap.
Rules:
Entry between 9:30 to 10:00.
Exit at stop-loss or at 3:25.
Bollinger band strategy is 20,2
30- minute time frame is required.
Big Profits and Small losses.
No need to trade every day.
Helps to stay away from the Sideway market.
Example for Buy Trade:
In this strategy, the stock should be open with Gap up or Gap down.
The First 30-minute candle should be untouched from the lower band.
As you can see in the above image, the first candle opens with a gap down and it is below the lower band.
The high of 1st candle is also untouched by the lower band.
Go for buy trade when the high of 1st 30-minute candle is a break.
Stop-loss = low of the 1st candle.
Example for Sell Trade:
The stock opens with a gap up and the 1st candle’s low is not touched with the upper Bollinger band.
As the low of the first candle is broken, enter in to sell trade.
Put the stop loss at the high of the first candle.
Note: This strategy gives best result for Nifty and Bank Nifty.
3. Morning ORB: The early morning range breakouts are also known as opening range breakouts. It is like bread-butter for many trades. The trading opening range takes skill and practice until you can turn a profit.
The early morning range breakout help traders to take advantage of the violent action from the flurry of buying and selling orders when the market opens.
Trading Range
The first 20 to 30-minute trading range is suitable for an opening range breakout. While you start trading practice using this strategy, it is recommended to start with a very little amount of capital.
The stock you select for the trade should be within a range, which is smaller than the average daily range of the stock. The upper and lower boundaries of the range can be identified by the high and low of the first 30 or 60 minutes.
Early Morning Range Breakout and Volume
The idea for go short on a break below or going long on a break above resistance is not as easy as you think. First, you need to understand the relationship between volume and price.
Volume and Price must be in harmony. When you short or long a stock, which has happed down or gapped up it must open with heavy volume and then retrace on lighter volume (indicating a lack of buying). Which confirms that sellers/buyers are in control.
Volume Is very important for every type of breakout which confirms the breakout before entry. If the stock price breaks the morning Support/resistance level with low volume, there is a high chance of a false breakout.
The image below explained that high volume during a breakout is likely to push price through key resistance.
In this 15- minute chart, you see that after a break of early morning resistance with high volume, the price starts increasing.
Volume is very tricky so you need to be able to predict the support/resistance levels accurately in order to find out good volume breakouts and set proper profit targets.

Eagle Eye Investor looks at both Macro and Micro angles. Having an Eagle Eye from above on the sector gives us an overall perspective how the group of companies with similar business might perform. Having seen the performance or out performance of the sector we can than fine tune our direction towards one or two top companies of that particular sector or the companies that look best on charts in that particular sector so that we can maximize our gains from the market.
Investor has to understand that this is not a foolproof plan of investing and lot of other things like fundamentals of the companies one is investing in and other factors should be considered before investing. However more often than not when a sector outperforms or an index outperforms others indices generally companies of that particular business segment tend to do well along with that particular index.
Vice versa if that particular sector is giving a breakdown or is sending weak signals on the chart one can decrease allocation or exit the sector or investment in the sector if needed based on the chart or fundamentals of that particular company. To do this one has to know the charts well and understand buy and sell signals on the chart pretty well. To become an expert in Techo-Funda analysis you can contact us or interact in the reply to this message.
Today we will have a look at Bank Nifty to understand this further. Below is the chart of Bank Nifty:
From the look at the chart we can understand Bank Nifty has taken support at 200 days EMA and is going towards 50 days EMA. Once Bank nifty crosses 50 days EMA there can be a very good rally seen in this particular index. The rally can be in the range of 2 to 8% is what we can assume based on the resistances seen in the form of red lines on the chart. The green lines in addition of 200 EMA are supports. Right now 50 EMA will act as a resistance but if we get a closing above this ‘Mother line’, 50 EMA might also become a support. The analysis presented here is for you to understand how support and resistances work and should not be considered for buying or selling Bank Nifty. The purpose is to provide our readers a perspective for looking always at the bigger picture. An investor should have the knowledge of Micro and well as Macro causes affecting the investment.
Having understood that Banking index might do well an investor can further have a look at constituents of this index which are Hdfc Bank, Kotak Bank, ICICI Bank, PNB, SBI, Axis bank, AU bank, Federal Bank, Bank of Baroda as well as Bandhan Bank. After having studied the technical and the fundamentals of all these companies an investor can further decide where he can make a positional or long term investment. Such an approach will definitely act as a safety net for investor. This kind of approach can also be compared to taking the second opinion of a Doctor before going for any medical procedure.
Remember that now all the stocks in an index will move equally some will move faster, some will move at the same pace, some will move slowly and some will not move at all or move negatively. You have to be smart in selection of your stocks from the particular index and you will surely be able to beat the market and Ace the Art of investing.

How Divergence was giving Adequate Warning - Adani EnterpriseDivergence has been very successful in Indicating a reversal well in advance. Of course, not all the indicated divergences resulted in successful price reversal. But Divergence on larger timeframe means at least be cautious !! Most of the traders who trade divergence combine multiple indicators for confirmation, which is fine. But in my opinion never trade against a divergence, specially if it happened in a bigger timeframe/larger timeframe.
Which indicators can be used for divergence ?
Most of the divergence indicators are based on oscillators and the idea is to find divergence between price movement in the chart vs the oscillator. Following are examples of some indicators which can be used to determine divergence:
RSI
MACD
Stochastic/Stochastic RSI
OBV
CCI
Aroon
Willian %R
(Please let us know which indicator do you use for divergence, if it's not in the list)
My indicators are mostly based on RSI and MACD and no one needs any fancy indicators to determine divergence.
Examples of Some Divergences
ADANI GROUPS
Adani Ent (specifically) was showing an extreme divergence on daily chart recently, even much before all these controversy was on!! Please look at all the three oscillators in comparison to price chart. There were enough divergence to stay away from all the longs. Now, switch on to weekly for Adani !!!!!
(The red color change in the first divergence indicatot is noting but RSI overbought zone)
Now, tell me, wasn't there an like never before weekly divergence??? Adani was all set to burst since 19 Dec 2022 weekly candle.
NIFTY CHART - (DAILY )- BULLISH & BEARISH IN ONE CHART
Please have a look into this -
The first divergence is bullish and second one is bearish !! How beautifully captured. Now you ask, can a price reversal happen without divergences?? The answer is yes. But I would say, if there is a divergence, most likely price would move in favour or at least, if doubtful stay away !!!
The irony and the most wonderful thing about divergence, that people don't understand that, these divergences can be traded for a great risk reward ratio !!!
