SKOPJE (N. Macedonia), March 27 (SeeNews) - Turkish Airlines launched direct flights from Istanbul to North Macedonia's Ohrid, Nejat Kurt, general manager of TAV Macedonia, said on Thursday.

The air carrier will run the service four times per week, Kurt told a press conference streamed on the government's YouTube channel.

Turkish Airlines operates daily flights from Istanbul to North Macedonia's capital Skopje.

In September, North Macedonia's transport ministry selected Turkish Airlines and other airlines to launch new flights to the airports in Skopje and Ohrid as part of an open call for flight subsidies.

Passenger traffic at the airports in Skopje and Ohrid reached 3,174,484 in 2024, an increase of 0.8% compared to the previous year, Aeroports de Paris (ADP) has said earlier. ADP owns 46% of Turkey’s TAV Airports, the company operating the airports in Skopje and Ohrid.
