Price-volume
Volume Change Indicator 0.1 [PATREND]
(Volume Change Indicator)
It is an analytical tool that studies the trading volume and its changes.
This indicator uses the Simple Moving Average (SMA) to calculate the average volume for a specific period of time.
Only candles that meet the required conditions are determined when the trading volume is greater than or equal to the calculated average.
This means that the indicator identifies a volume candle only when there is a significant change in trading volume compared to the average.
This indicator is distinguished from other similar indicators in that it allows the user to determine the required percentage of change as an additional condition for determining the volume candle.
If the conditions are correct, the indicator will display a diamond below the candle that meets the requirements specified by the user.
The indicator also displays lines above and below the candle and places "A" and "B" marks next to them to determine the start and end points.

- Vwap line
- Indicator
If you have any questions, let me know!
Correlation of Price Spread and VolumeCorrelation between candle's price spread (length of candle of each bar) and volume.
Generally, increases in volume precede significant price movements. However, If the price is rising in an uptrend but the volume is reducing, it may show that there’s little interest in the instrument, and the price may reverse.
The closer the correlation is to 1.0, indicates the instruments will move up and down together as it is expected with volume and price spread. So the correlation Indicator aims to display when the price spread and volume is in correlation and not. Blue color represent positive correlation while orange negative correlation. The strength of the correlation is determined by the width of the bands.
Volume using Candle RangeAnother way of finding out a rough estimate of the volume or how much bulls or bears were in control using only the range of the candlesticks in relation to the closing price. If the close is in the higher range zone then the volume is said to have been positive, if the close is in the lower range zone then the volume is said to have been negative. The close is compared to the midpoint of the candle to see how far from the midpoint the close was.
The columns bars show how far each candlestick's close price is to the midpoint of its high and low. It's possible for the column bar to be a different color than the candlestick itself if the close was above or below the midpoint. An average line is shown that takes the average of a given length amount of column bars. There is an option to show the absolute value only of the columns and the average line.
This is based on an idea I found about candlestick range bars implying volume. This is an attempt to put that theory into practice and to see if there's any truth to it. It's not exactly volume and may not always look like it, and it does not show how many trades took place but instead tries to use price in relation to the high and low range.
VOLatiliUMThis is a useful conjunction of volume and volatility together in one script, so I named it a blended name!
It can show the diagram of:
- Volume
- Volume Variation (Volume - Past Volume)
- Volume Density (Volume / (High - Low))
- Volatility in combination with the aforesaid ones
It also offers two concepts of bar colorizing, by using the size of the bars or by applying volatility from a higher time frame (HTF).
The option "Absolute Bar Values" is included for the ones who like to see all bars positive above the zero line!
Feel free to use the script and send me your opinions. Thanks.
Price/Volume momentumThis indicator will help you measure when to keep adding on your longs and when to get out.
What you want to see is increasing price with increasing volume to keep adding.
You can also begin to enter a position that has changing momemtum, meaning the volume/price pair has stop going down and it's reversing.
I use this indicator with my volatility indicator and my Matrix indicator on the daily
Price/Volume Value HistogramAn interesting implementation of mine to measure an asset changes based on asset price velocity and volume velocity. The indicator acts as asset value calculator. Long and Short.
==Points System Rules==
UPTRENDING
If Current Close is higher than previous Close and Current Volume is bigger than previous Volume: Adds Close Points and Volume Points
Otherwise check
If Current Close is higher than previous Close: Adds Only Close Points
DOWNTRENDING
If Current Close is lower than previous Close and Current Volume is bigger than previous Volume: Reduces Close Points and Volume Points
Otherwise check
If Current Close is lower than previous Close: Reduces Only Close Points
==Plotting==
Result of the values are summed up to a histogram.
Obviously on increasing prices and volume the histogram will be above zero line and on the Bullish side (green color), otherwise, on the Bearish side (red color).
You can't cheat the price movement, it's just what it is.
Optional to smooth it by EMA (set to true by default).

Slippage Calculator Hello everyone,
This is the first script I publish, also my English is not the best my apologies.
This simple study script is an attempt to estimate the slippage during a trade. By no means it is a precise calculation, it is just an approach that can be improved.
You are welcome to take this simple script and use it and change it at your convenience just ask your acknowledge.
My approach considers the total fluctuation the price gets as a consequence for the total volume on that specific bar.
The volume on each bar is given in BTC, thus you get that by using the formula.
vol = volume * vwap
The total variation in price is considered as twice the size of the bar plus the gap between to consecutive bars. that is the
total fluctuation of price on each bar = (2 * (high - low) + abs(open - close )) which is not totally true since inside each bar price can fluctuate a lot more.
The script considers you are trading your total equity (eq_BTC ) each time. The fraction of your equity of the volume bar is eq_BTC / vol
Then eq_BTC / vol is the portion or the total fluctuation in price that is due to your entry or exit from the market.
(2 * (high - low) + abs(open - close )) * eq_BTC / vol
is the average change in price due you enter o exit a position.
** the 2 factor accounts for the two directions in the market buying and selling. There is more behind this formula I can explain you in more detail if you like.
I haven't seen anywhere a formula like this one, so it is intended to be a first attempt to get a better approach.
Finally the output of the scripts is how many ticks the price might change due to your trade on each bar
round(slippage/syminfo.mintick)
The script is focused in crypto but it can be used as well on forex markets.
Take care,

Buy and Sell PressureThis indicator is an interpolation of the demand index by James Sibbet. Thomas Aspray, an experienced trader, suggests using DI in three formats, one of those was to plot the buying pressure (BP) and selling pressure (SP) as separate lines; which is what this indicator was designed to do. The green line represents the buying pressure and red line represents the selling pressure. Advantages:
Divergences between BP or SP and price. A divergence between the BP or SP and prices suggests an approaching change in the price trend.
Crossovers can be interpreted as bullish/bearish
Known issues: illiquid crypto forex pairs or stocks with a very low price (i.e. 0.0000056) will cause the BP and SP to not work correctly, this can be mitigated by changing the quote currency, choosing an exchange with more volume, or changing the time-frame to a longer value.
The Buy and Sell Pressure indicator is available for purchase at www.cryptoalphaindicators.com
Demand IndexThis is an interpretation of James Sibbet's demand index (DI). The indicator does an excellent job of displaying:
Divergences between DI and price. A divergence between the DI and prices suggests an approaching change in the price trend.
Trendline analysis of DI showing levels of support/resistance, can help determine changes in trend.
As a leading indicator DI trendlines are often broken ahead of price trendlines.
Zero-line crossings can confirm previous signals as a lagging indicator.

Trend Validation | www.cryptoalphaindicators.comThis indicator is designed to run in the background and provide a bird's eye view of what the prevailing trend is currently (positive/negative).
The navy blue background color indicates a positive trend underway and conversely the red background color indicates a negative trend has been detected.
Formulated with Ehler's Force Index and the Exponential Moving average.
The areas absent of color indicate that no satisfiable correlation was found between price (ema) and the price-to-volume indicator Ehler's Force Index (EFI).

Ultimate Money Flow (UMF), Stoch, Multi Time Frame (MTF) [cI8DH]This indicator adds stochastic, multi time frame, signal line, histogram, and bar coloring options to my previous indicators. It can also replicate standard Money Flow Index ( MFI ), Chaikin's Accumulation/Distribution Line ( ADL ), On Balance Volume ( OBV ) and Price-Volume Trend ( PVT ). This indicator can be used for analyzing momentum, buy/sell pressure, overbought/oversold conditions, and trendiness/choppiness, as well as identifying swings (stoch). Chart below shows example multi-TF setup with bar coloring.
For analyzing price, I made a similar indicator based on Absolute and Relative Strength Indices, which you can find in the link below.
Equation
Here is part of the code used in the script: pastebin.com
Standard MFI, OBV, ADL and PVT
To validate the calculations, I stacked UMF on MFI, OBV, ADL, and PVT in the chart below (100% overlaps validate the calculations). It also shows how you can replicate these indicator if you'd like to use them, or if you want to make your own custom indicator by combining features from different indicators. I do not recommend MFI, ADL or OBV; read "why invent a new indicator" section below. (bear in mind that MFI scale is 0-100, while UMF scales is -100 to 100)
Money Flow based on "Balance of Power" (this is the default mode)
Balance of Power (BoP) equation is: (close - open) / (high - low)
In my opinion, BoP is the most accurate equation to measure the amount of volume accumulated or distributed. I used BoP in my previous open source indicators ADV , ADL , ADP and ADMF . I applied the "True Range" fix to BoP equation similar to what Twiggs did on CMF .
Aggregation Method
By changing aggregation methods, you can replicate my previous indicators which are also linked at the bottom of this page. Please read more about their applications in their respective pages.
aggregation method = Cumulative => ADL indicator: accumulation/distribution (price factoring should be turned off)
aggregation method = MA => ADMF indicator: accurate buy/sell pressure, momentum and divergence
aggregation method = MA Percent => ADP indicator: overbought/oversold conditions, buy/sell pressure, momentum and divergence, failure swings
Smoothing, signal line and histogram to detect trend and choppiness
You can apply additional smoothing to UMF. Also, you can add a signal line and histogram (histogram is the difference between main line and signal line). To do so, set the signal length to a number greater than one. Signal line can help you detect changes in trend similar to the signal line on MACD. If signal line criss-crosses UMF, it shows market is choppy. The worst case is when this criss-crossing coincides with UMF flattening near neutral line and histogram height is short; that means market is ded (until it is not; expansion following a contraction period is a common phenomena)! (Bear in mind that histogram will not show in stoch mode.)
Stochastic
To enable stoch, change the stoch length to a number greater than 1 (default stoch length for the built-in stoch RSI is 14). This length should be calibrated depending on TF and asset. If done correctly, it can be a powerful tool for identifying swings. Stoch can be combined with any aggregation method. I recommend using stoch with MA or cumulative aggregation methods. For conventional uses of stochastic, please read www.tradingview.com(STOCH) and www.tradingview.com(STOCH_RSI).
Experimental Bar coloring Feature
There is an option to color bars depending on UMF's position relative to the signal line. If both TFs are used in coloring and they are in disagreement, the TF with greater histogram height wins. There are two shades of green and red. The darker shade means both TFs agree. If you use the signal line, bar coloring can help with calibrating the indicator (play with parameters until you see a good looking chart i.e. a lot of green candles followed by a lot of red candles in a row). Please note that bar colors might change until candle(s) close(s). The bar coloring rules will most likely change in the future.
Notes
- Uncheck "Factor Price" for Bitmex or any other exchange that shows volume in terms of money.
- UMF is a replacement to ADP , ADMF and ADL , so no more updates for the old indicators!
- Smooth MA length N = EMA length 2*N-1
- Combined tickers, e.g. (COINBASE:BTCUSD+BITSTAMP:BTCUSD+KRAKEN:XBTUSD)/3, can mitigate inconsistency issues between different exchanges (I recommend not mixing USD and USDT pairs together)
Why invent a new indicator
I have spent a great deal of time to find the best equation that represents accumulation/distribution. Each of the well-known methods have a major flaw.
- Winner-take-all problem
MFI, OBV and to some extent Williams AD assign accumulation or distribution based on the direction of change in price. They don't account for the amount of change. That means the indicator does not differentiate between a full candle and a doji candle.
- Extreme divergence problem
Chaikin tried to avoid winner-take-all problem. However, he ended up with a solution that, in my opinion, is even worse. A big flaw of Chaikin's indicators is that they can diverge too much from price. Most responsive indicators in this class, require at least two candles to diverge from price, but CMF/ADL can diverge in a single candle. Chaikin used the same component ( aka Chaikin's money flow multiplier) in both CMF and ADL. CMF 's flaws may not be as visible because it is a normalized oscillator. However, this common flaw is more evident in accum/dist indicator which keeps all past information in its memory. As you can see in the chart below, accum/dist is constantly rising during an obviously distribution period.
