Square - (Another) one that got away.I remember the first time I bought something froma Kiosk in the mall (remember those) and the vendor had me run my card through a little Square dongle connected to their cell phone. I thought, "Well, my credit card information is going straight to 4 chan." Then I though, "Cool, no need to call Verizon to set up a T1 to get a connection to process credit cards." I figured for sure it was a great invention, and had no competition. When the stock first came out, it was in the 9 to 12 dollar range for ever. Once the options came available, I kept selling Iron Condors and call spreads. Kept getting taken out on the upside, so I just switched to selling at the money puts, which worked well. (No position currently). This stock reminds me of one of the ones that Phil Town would talk about in his book, "Rule #1 Investing," a great book for investors. Could have just saved myself a ton of grief and bet the farm on long out of the money calls! Who says buy and hold is dead?!?!

Payment giant posted strong Q4Take away SQ Q4 1. Posted a 52% year-over-year increase in Q4 2020 gross profit of $804 million and up from $794 million in Q3 2020 2. Total net revenue for the quarter was $3.16 billion, up 141% year-over-year, versus analysts' consensus of $3.11 billion. 3. Operating expenses were $759 million in the fourth quarter of 2020, up 49% year over year, and non-GAAP operating expenses were $622 million, up 51% year over year. 4. Cash App had more than 36 million monthly customers active, a 50% increase year-over-year. 5. Purchased approximately 3,318 bitcoins at a cost of $170 million. 6. Pulling backPulling back, waiting for now. I like this stock but... Most Arc patterns fall between 50 to 79%, but every stock is different. SQ is a strong stock so it may not, no way to know. No recommendation Parabolic Arcs can be long term patterns. When they fall, expect volatility as a rule, even if levels have been met. Parabolic Arc chart patterns are generated when steep rise in prices are caused by irrational buying and intense speculation. They are usually not super common, but there are many in the market right now. If you look at the 3 year weekly and price is looking like a steep and vertical line up, think twice before trading it. These patterns trend gradually making higher highs and lower lows in the beginning stages but can be volatile in the exhaustion and reversal stages. Irrational buying in the public generates a strong rally to push prices vertically, followed by a steep sell off. Parabolic arc is a reversal pattern and has a very predictable outcome. Although they are predictable, they are relatively difficult to trade since the market sentiment is bullish and may be relatively tough to point reversals to trade.It is usually best not to expect the price to return to Parabolic Arc highs for a long time.
