Correction up for goldHi traders, Last week XAUUSD slowly went up and dropped on Tuesday. I think this was the finish of an ending diagonal wave 5 (grey). I've adjusted the wave count. Next week we could see a correction up to the FVG's above and after that another drop. Let's see what price does and react. Trade idea: Wait for for a change in orderflow to bullish and a small correction down on an lower time frame to trade (intraday) longs to the FVG's above. Gold Long Trade Setup Analysis (5H Timeframe - IGSB)📍Gold has made significant moves upwards since January, climbing an additional $300. 📍Currently Gold is showing signs of a reversal, however technicals inform us that this is not yet time for a larger retracement. 📍Below is our previous Gold idea, executed in January 2025 at the break out of a long term triangle pattern. Our entry was $2695, with a target (determined by the triangles range) falls at $3100, just slightly above a key psychological level of $3000. 📍At the moment Gold has not yet tested $3000, an we expect to see this happen before a deeper retracement occurs. 📍As of Friday Gold hit our Entry target of $2840, which was identified by higher timeframe dynamic support (high validity) which falls inline with lower timeframe price structure. The confluence adds confidence to our trade execution. We can, as a result of precise, high validity higher time frame dynamic support add another position onto our original from January. We can do so with a very tight stop just slightly below this dynamic support of 2840 as it is very unlikely to be broken at this time. Current Outlook: Risk/Reward = 1:15.8 📈 Bullish Scenario (Breakout Play) - 🟢 Entry: Price has tested our higher timeframe dynamic support, which represents a significant, highly valid resistance level that is likely to hold its weight. This sits at $2840. - A bounce from this level would see Gold return to the all-time high price, likely moving beyond this to $3000, $3050, $3100 before a potential larger retracement is seen. ✅ Justification: - 🔹 Gold broke out of a long term triangle structure which formed between October 2024 and January 2025. This significant price consolidation range once broken gives a rough estimate of a future price target, determined by the height of the range. This when plotted from the breakout point gives us a rough target of $3100, which falls in line with key psychological levels and a more recent fib extension. 📍 Key Resistance Levels (Potential Rejection Zones): - 🎯 $2880, $2919, $2942 (Previous horizontal structure) - 📍 Key Support Levels: - ❗ $2840 (higher timeframe dynamic support) - 🔻 $2800 (key psychological level) - 📉 Deeper Target: $3000 - $3100 (Projected based on Fibonacci extensions, previous long term triangle breakout and key psychological levels) 📉 Bearish Scenario (Does not fit our strategy) - ❌ Invalidation Level: Below $2800 - 🔻 Downside Targets: We are not shorting Gold at this time. So, instead of asking, "Will Gold go up or down?" , a professional trader asks three critical questions before taking any trade. Let's break them down. ________________________________________ Step 1: Identifying the Right Entry Point Let’s say you’ve done your analysis, and you believe Gold will drop. That’s great—but that’s just an opinion. What really matters is execution. 🔹 Where do I enter the trade? Professional traders don’t jump into the market impulsively. They use pending orders instead of market orders to wait for the right price. If you believe Gold will fall, you shouldn’t just sell at any price. You need to identify a key resistance level where a reversal is likely to happen. For example: • If Gold is trading at $2900, and strong resistance is at $2920, a professional trader will set a sell limit order at that resistance level rather than shorting randomly. This approach ensures that you enter at a strategic point where the probability of success is higher. ________________________________________ Step 2: Setting the Stop Loss 🔹 Where do I place my stop loss? OANDA:XAUUSD was trading at nearly $2,905/oz as of press time, about 60Dollar below the all-time high reached on Monday after Trump announced his administration would impose 25% tariffs on the European Union without clarifying whether the tariffs would affect all EU exports or be limited to certain products or industries. At the same time, Trump also announced US tariffs on Mexico and Canada would take effect on April 2, delaying the original March 4 effective date. Late Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump reaffirmed he will maintain 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico and added the European Union to the list of countries he will punish American consumers for importing goods from. Trump added that tariffs on Canada and Mexico will take effect on April 2. Market participants will closely monitor developments surrounding Trump's next tariff policy. Tariff uncertainty could spur flows into safe assets, benefiting precious metals. Since Trump returned to power, his comments on the timing, scale and targeting of tariffs have often confused global markets and raised questions about his policies. This instability, coupled with geopolitical changes, highlights gold's role as a store of value in times of uncertainty. Gold prices have also been supported in recent days by weak U.S. economic data, which has traders expecting the Federal Reserve to make just two 25 basis point interest rate cuts this year. GOLD DAILY CHART MID/LONG TERM UPDATEHey Everyone, This is an update on our daily chart idea that we are now tracking and playing out perfectly, as analysed. 2904 AXIS target was hit previously completing this level and also into the channel top for the perfect finish and rejection. We then stated that we now have body close above 2904 AXIS but will need ema5 lock to confirm 2959, although the channel top is acting as resistance and therefore will need some ranging movement within the channel so it can slowly ascend into the 2959 respecting the channel dynamics. - This is playing out perfectly, we got the cross and lock but the channel top is acting, as resistance but we are slowly ascending with the channel for the 2959 gap, which just fell short buy a few pips but we were able to take over 200 pips clean. We also need to keep in mind the channel half line below to establish floor to provide support for the range, should we continue to track further up. A break below the half line will open the lower part of the channel to establish floor on the channel bottom. The safest way to track this movement is by buying dips. This is the beauty of our Goldturn channels, which we draw in our unique way, using averages rather than price. This enables us to identify fake-outs and breakouts clearly, as minimal noise in the way our channels are drawn. We will use our smaller timeframe analysis on the 1H and 4H chart to buy dips from the weighted Goldturns for 30 to 40 pips clean. Ranging markets are perfectly suited for this type of trading, instead of trying to hold longer positions and getting chopped up in the swings up and down in the range. We will keep the above in mind when taking buys from dips. Our updated levels and weighted levels will allow us to track the movement down and then catch bounces up using our smaller timeframe ideas. Our long term bias is Bullish and therefore we look forward to drops like this from rejections, which allows us to continue to use our smaller timeframes to buy dips using our levels and setups.
