Oh, so it looks like I can recreate some of my trades on paper trading here. I don't yet see how to trade options if that's possible? I ran a few more analysis screens, purchased contracts against Uber and $GRAB, and have a pending trade for a put contract against JBLU, and I'll update my records if and when that goes through tomorrow. BTC and ETH are still...
A decent increase in USDCHF today - not quite enough to take profit though. Bought again on USDCHF, bringing my average to 0.92080. Maybe it will continue to rise and exceed the average in the next few days. EURUSD still unchanged at 1.20482
Buying to lower my average basis in USDCHF today, still holding EURUSD The new USDCHF average basis is 0.92139 EURUSD average is still at 1.20482
Another sell to close on USDCHF today, +0.87%. Still holding on EURUSD, further buying would exceed my risk limit. Today's averages are 0.92197 USDCHF, 1.20482 EURUSD
Sold to close one USDCHF position, +0.70% Still holding EURUSD, as the next buy size would put me over the risk threshold for the line. Day's averages are 0.92159 USD/CHF, 1.20482 EUR/USD (still)
Holding on EURUSD today, average steady at 1.20482 Sold to close one position on USDCHF, +0.84% gain. New average is 0.92125 Current total return is 20.25%, for a 42.78% annualized return.
Hi Everyone, I'm back! After some further testing and research, I've decided the only additional constraint was a max-risk constraint. The new ruleset is: Trade 1% of margin/day, maximum of one trade per line per day If spot price > weighted average basis, sell to close If spot price < weighted average basis, then check position size If position size would be >=...
Well, it's hard to admit this, but I wasn't able to keep following the strategy. My unrealized P/L got too high, and I bailed. I'll keep running the account on a personal basis. I'm still up slightly, but my non-leveraged accounts are yielding better profits. Most likely, I'll do more backtesting, refine it a bit, and give it another try in a few months. ...
I'm gonna have to stop the daily updates for the time being. Long story, and this doesn't feel like the right place. I'll still keep trading and provide a detailed account when I can. It looks like this strategy will yield better results on non-leveraged cryotocurrencies, but I still want to see where this test ends up.
Sold USDCHF +0.74%, bought EURUSD, bringing the average to 1.19705. Keep calm and trade on.
Still net negative on both lines. Plenty of room away from a margin call, may as well keep stocking up. Bought on both lines. New averages are 0.92823 USDCHF, 1.19758 EURUSD. I feel like I should put more, but there's not much of a story on this one. Just gotta keep holding and see what happens next.
Yeah, okay I'll be the first to say it. Yesterday me was a silly ass. Two takeaways. One: it's good that I'm not using a discretionary strategy. I could have easily missed today's gain on EURUSD if I had bailed yesterday. Two: the weakest part of my trading strategy is, and will always be, the part between keyboard and chair. Bought on both lines. Down ~0.5%...
Buy on both lines tonight. New averages are 0.92909 USDCHF, 1.19798 EURUSD. These results really don't inspire confidence right now. But I'm only half done - giving up early definitely won't work. All I can do it keep going and see what happens. Worst case, this strategy is consistently profitable with crypto only, and not right for other markets.
Thank you @aries5510 and @hossein1285 for the follows! Always a welcome sight. Still in that weird 'no mans land' with no definite winner on either side. Bought another ~1% position on both lines. New averages are 0.92968 USDCHF, 1.19862 EURUSD.
Slight change in the plan. I'll trade on market open on Sunday, rather than try to get it in before market close on Friday. That way, I can make all my trades at the same time. Buy on both lines today. New averages are 0.93001 USDCHF, 1.19908 EURUSD.
Very, very close to the take profit point on EURUSD, but not quite. Bought on both lines, bringing the new averages to 0.93003 USDCHF, 1.19946 EURUSD. It looks like the next "cell" of the helix is about to close. I'm expecting EURUSD to continue to grow the next few days, and USDCHF to decline. Time will tell if I'm seeing the pattern, or seeing what I want to see.
A buy to lower basis on both lines today. New averages are 0.9316 USDCHF, 1.19956 EURUSD. Not much of a story today. Unrealized P/L improved with EURUSD, and both lines are (for now) back within 1% of breakeven/becoming profitable. Hopefully there will be some profit to take in the next week or so. It's starting to feel routine - which is good. I want this to...
Hello @kagisomoela and @Meyertime! I appreciate your follows. Hope my posts help you, too! Old Business: a rare buy on both lines. New averages are 0.93217 USDCHF, 1.20040 EURUSD. That was a bit of a surprise. Just looking at the news and price action from yesterday, I was expecting DXY to continue trending upwards, pulling USDCHF with it. After the change...
