If that break up wasn't there it looks like a good Head and Shoulders, so does the break nullify the pattern? There's certainly a temptation to buy in, potash prices are up, the company has slashed operating costs and it has valuable water rights in New Mexico, water which shale frackers will pay for. If there's to be a break upwards now looks like the time,...
I think Xenon hit bottom and now it has been climbing steadily for the last 4 months, every week except one has finished higher. In the last week it appears an ascending triangle has formed and the price has marched on upwards again. I try to be careful so I'll look at the 5-year info on the marketwatch site, then do a search for info on their pain-meds...
Although the company could be doomed (awful financials), I think price movements for VTVT could be exploited by gamblers and are interesting as a sort of academic study. There appears to be a stubborn resistance at about 7.60 which has frustrated the recent buyers. I thought that the huge increase in volume on December 29th and January 23rd might push through...
I found this because there's a substantial upside breakout pre-market on FENC today. I think that H & S formations are reversal signals that are supposed to happen only at major tops and bottoms but this looks a lot like an upside-down one... is it just a fluke caused by this morning's press release or is there a reference/explanation to this as a known phenomenon?
You can see that MDWD has moved up on higher volume recently from what appears to be the end of its down trend, and it is now in a clear pennant/ascending triangle. I did a search for "analyst opinion" on MediWound and it seems that the consensus is that it's a "strong buy". I don't understand why those experts say such things when the company is losing money,...
RUBI has dropped from $20 in 2015 to $1.50 recently, but it looks like a reversal may be underway. You can see what's either a H & S bottom and/or a symmetrical triangle with a credible breakout on large volume . The financials have been poor over the last 5 years, 2017 free cash flow was negative 10.9M which I guess is a result of acquiring N Toggle in July for...
This caught my eye - on Nov 15th and 28th 2 ACB peaks diverged with the RSI, the price dropped, recovered, slipped sideways for a week and then shot up 100+% to another pair of peaks with RSI divergence on January 8th and 24th. Again ACB dropped and recovered partially -- it's a real rollercoaster, huh? Canada is going to legalize pot in July so you'd think ACB...
March 17, 2012: The trend is obvious, yet some still deny the evidence.
SWN was near $50 in mid-2014 before diving 90%. The company appears to be healthy now, and the price may have gone as low as it's going since it has curved up out of a bottom and moved into a triangle or pennant formation on above average volume. Maybe next week will present a clearer view of whether an opportunity is at hand...
This one is moving just as one could hope for, but flags can be pretty unsettling when they're forming. ARWR retreated about 21% over three weeks before resuming its upward trend. It's hard to say whether it takes good nerves to hold tough, or desperate optimism!
TUES has fallen a long way over the last few years. I'm not great at reading financial statements - I think that last year's 10-K showed the picture in June as being pretty poor, but the 10-Q in December hasn't gotten any worse. This ascending triangle has been underway for a few months and made a false breakout down. Now it's near the apex, this week should...
It looks like a move up from this descending triangle has started. The fall from the high at 30 cents has been fairly steady, but a climb back from a 50% drop isn't unheard of... I got the following from their MD&A at their web site: "Management realizes that the current liquidity and capital on hands are not sufficient to develop the Company ...
Proteon is a biotech, the stock price took a running dive into a chasm a while back. I suppose they'll need success with the current phase-3 test of their kidney treatment to recover in any meaningful way (the last one failed). However you can see in the chart that the price has doubled recently, and if there's a solid breakout from the symmetrical triangle next...
The descending triangle is so clear, where to next? Intuition would suggest a break down, but a quick glance in the textbook warns: "... In those infrequent cases when prices 'squeeze' right on out of the apex without producing a definite breakout, the pattern seems to lose much of its power."
TDOC has been following a rising trend for about 18 months, and it looks like it just broke out of an ascending triangle. I wonder if it was a trap? 4th quarter report is out next week, maybe that will have an impact one way or the other...
Good earnings reports, positive comments from management, why is investor sentiment negative?
...and low volume too! I don't see anything on the chart to encourage buyers. What will it take to light a fire?
The descending channel is clear. If you are an eternal optimist you might see a bullish flag, but maybe a realist says that the ascending trend line means nothing, and the descent will break through it soon anyway... it is possible that XLM will continue to fall and never recover. Where is the good news? It's not like XLM is going to develop a new winning...
