Reviews from actual traders
so slow trading IB account in TradingView
Keeps disconnecting and it can be slow/laggy when buying a contract
Connecting on the phone is usually a pain and often failes on the first try
IBKR as a broker is great! However, be aware that the integration with TradingView is why I gave 4 vs 5 starts. It only has the basics... If you are paper trading on TradingView and are used to being able to edit orders to add stoploss etc after the order is placed (or anything fancy like trying to tier your orders), it's impossible. If you don't set your take profit and stoploss when placing the order through TV, you are **must** manually manage the trade, like i said, no way to add stuff after the fact. If they fix that then it's an EASY 5 star review.
Oh yeah, and for any Canadians out there, IBKR doesn't allow TSX orders to be placed through tradingview....
Thank you for the feedback. We learn so much from clients like you! When initiating a new position, you can attach a stop loss and profit order within the initial order. But if that initial order has already been executed, they are currently addressing a limitation with TradingView. This is not an issue if you use IBKR’s trading platforms, as you can submit bracket orders anytime. If you have problems, please email us with further details to tradingviewsupport@ibkr.com so we can assist. We would appreciate the opportunity to turn around your experience.
Great
Many instruments to trade on
Good overall. But very clumsy and very slow UI
Thank you for sharing this with us! You may want to try IBKR GlobalTrader, a user-friendly and straightforward interface for trading stocks, ETFs, options, and crypto worldwide. You can check it out here: interactivebrokers.com/en/trading/ibkr-desktop.php.
I like the fast executions but it suffers from constant disconnects and limited trading options
The integration with TV is buggy as hell, keeps disconnecting etc
I love it!
Terrible experience with TradingView. The connection to IB constantly drops despite a stable internet connection. Orders often fail to execute or experience massive slippage.
Today, I clicked to close an order in TradingView - the position disappeared from the chart, as usual. But it turned out the order wasn’t actually closed; the connection to IB had simply dropped.
By the time I realized, it was already -3.5R. Thankfully, I caught it.
I strongly advise against using Interactive Brokers through TradingView for day trading.
IBKR support also leaves much to be desired - I still haven’t received a response to a request I submitted 20 days ago.
