Worms and Wind

Updated
Seagull was imagining the creases in the lower part of the sail were worms on the beautiful beaches of the S S Lamboat's destination, Tropical Aisles, up at Lattitude 11 705.
He had his little eye on the Capt. S S, who had come up on deck. His BTC (wind pressure barometer, measured in Bitcals), was showing of signs of gusty, increasing strength. He saw that BTC -1.84% was not quite high enough to blow over the top of the sail yet.
If it didn't make it over at 9340, then it may drop off to 9130 or 8880 or 8660 before gathering more BTC and rising again.
Capt S S saw Seagull looking at him.
He knew that if Seagull was still sitting on the mast, then Lamboat was not going to speed to the TA's just yet.

When sailing on the open seas, Capt. S S and Seagull spent a lot of time waiting...
Watching the weather...the wind would give patterns & signals.

Old Capt. used his many years of experience, remembering the how the sailing was when the winds were similar and from which direction.
Seagull could just feel it in his blood.
They agreed and they disagreed.
But they always had to think about "What if?"
They both knew how dangerously powerful the wind could be. No matter what they thought tomorrow would bring, the weather could suddenly change and they would have to adjust their plans quickly.
