Trend reversal or correction chart patterns announce a reversal of the current trend on the observed chart. The output of the figure is made, theoretically, in the opposite direction to the movement that precedes the formation of the pattern. In an uptrend, a reversal pattern indicates a bearish move. On the contrary, in a downtrend, it announces an upward movement.
