Plain and simple: The longer the market stays in the euphoria of this non-starter rally the more blood in the streets when mtgox *still* doesn't enable withdraws today.

Note how the story ultimately ended: The return to mean happened exactly as it should have, the very next day. Then Gox promptly died.
