The regional election in Germany (Saarland State) on Sunday March 26th 2017 showed a much higher number of voters than in the elections before. Voters cleary said, asked by Journalists and broadcased on tv, that they dicided to go this election to stop "any populism". What they mean but did not said in expressis verbis is to stop the far right populism. Same happened in the Netherlands and same happened in the USA. Hillary Clinton won the popular votes by a wide numbers of approximately 3 Mio. voters.
