EOS, to launch or not to launch?
Coin of the day is EOS.
Currently owned by the block.one organization, EOS was launched by Dan Larimer, who is also the founder and creator of established platforms like Bitshares and Steem.
Calling itself the most powerful infrastructure for decentralized applications, EOS is a blockchain platform for decentralized applications (dapps), similar to Ethereum in function. It makes dapp development easy by providing an operating-system-like set of useful services and features.
EOS brings together the best features and promises of the various smart contract technologies out there (e.g., security of Bitcoin, computing support of Ethereum) in one simple to use, massively scalable dapp platform for the everyday user.
Server hosting and cloud storage are part of the EOS system as well, meaning that application developers can build and deploy applications and web interfaces with hosting, cloud storage and download bandwidth provided by the EOS system. This opens developers up to bring their ideas into reality free from the demands of securing storage and bandwidth.
The developer will have access to analytics for storage and bandwidth directly from EOS, and be able to set limits for specific applications to whatever levels they choose. Such services will be paid by staking EOS tokens.
EOS platform does not require dapps to include micropayments by end users to send messages and perform tasks on the blockchain etc. Monetization strategies left up to the individual app developers to determine how transactions fees will be paid.
EOS was planning to launch mainnet in June 2018; the native EOS tokens will be distributed on a 1:1 basis to holders of current EOS ERC-20 tokens.
From the 1 June, mainnet is in a launching state and tokens are frozen. Community being under pressure, as they cant announce the exact date of launch.
Nonetheless, the team continues activity on Reddit and also reporting every two days on Medium, the last report main point:
"If no immediate P0 or P1 issues are discovered within the next few days (not weeks or months), we will launch the EOS Mainnet as we continue testing."

Technicals
From 2017.10 EOSBTC price rose on 2800%, bringing its price almost to the listing price (now in the 27% zone of the all-time high), which already a rarity. Probably, we could address such pleasant growth to their original token-sale model, which lasted almost a year. The price was jumpy during the whole May retracing from the 0.0025 high but confidently picking up above the 100-days EMA. Overall, pattern stays bullish, drawing a narrowing triangle. Near-term events will decide the future of EOS, will the team be able to pull out their promises. In case of positive news - breakthrough of the Bearish Trend Line and further target at 0.0025 high is quite possible. In case of further prolongation or problems, the coin will go down looking for support levels: 0.0017 and 100-days EMA.

Update on Mainnet launch:"On 9 June, at 0100 UTC, the EOS Mainnet Launch Group (EMLG) unanimously voted “Go” to move forward with the EOS Mainnet Launch. The launch sequence began at 1300 UTC on 9 June 2018 and is expected to complete in 24 - 48 hours. For updates on the launch, look toward the Block Producers you trust and plan to vote for."
