Hype Play: Mattell (Barbie)

Might be a fun one to watch. Mattell is coming up to earnings and with so much hype around the Barbie movie they are anticipating it will flow onto sales results. Whether it is too soon for this earnings round or more likely to have a bigger impact on the next one with the movie not yet released it will be interesting to see how the movie hype does indeed translate to sales.

Might be worth keeping en eye on.

Barbie's looking good. Will no doubt encourage Mattel to see what else they have in their toy box to movie'fy.

The movie has now very quickly crossed the $1B mark but it still hasn't translated into any upside for Mattel - yet. Need to wait a while longer to see if it leads to more toy sales.

Didn't get any momentum out of the movie. Still running in that $21 to $22 range. Would have been a good swing trade or for a grid bot :)
