It is difficult to digest the atrocities that are happening in Ukraine today. Like many of you, it has me thinking about ways one might be able to help. Today I would like to share with the community some of the many organizations that are making a difference and could use your support, along with some information on how to provide volunteer help.
These are reputable organizations that are seeking volunteers or donations and are actively involved in supporting Ukraine:
Volunteers for Ukraine. This is a volunteer organization that spawned out of the Volunteers for Ukraine Reddit last week. They started by matching those willing to donate airline miles to military and medical experienced volunteers that have decided to go to Ukraine to help. Now they are seeking additional operational volunteers and donations to directly and immediately send volunteers to Ukraine: volunteerforukraine.org/
Ukrainian Democracy. The CEO of DocGo launched a similar effort to the one above a few days ago, and has reportedly personally spent hundreds of thousands of dollars funding volunteer efforts. Their operation is similar to Volunteer for Ukraine. They are seeking both volunteers and sponsors: ukrainiandemocracy.com/
International Legion of Defense. If you yourself would like to personally volunteer in Ukraine, contact one of the organizations above, or read more information about volunteering at the Ukraine official site: fightforua.org/
Doctors Without Borders. Staffers with the medical relief organization remain in Ukraine and are "seeking ways to respond to the medical and humanitarian needs as the conflict evolves." doctorswithoutborders.org/
CARE. The international humanitarian group is providing food, water and other items to families fleeing violence in Ukraine. care.org/
CORE. The emergency response nonprofit is on the ground in Poland, distributing hygiene kits and thermal blankets, as well as emergency cash assistance to help families resettle International Committee of the Red Cross. The Swiss-based organization is supporting the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross in helping those impacted by the war. coreresponse.org/ukraine-refugee-crisis-relief-poland
International Medical Corps. The first responders' organization has teams inside Ukraine and in the surrounding regions to offer medical and mental health services. internationalmedicalcorps.org/who-we-are/
