Tesla model 3 owners are rabid fans. I once asked a neighbor about his while walking my dogs and he talked for half an hour about how much he loved it, the technical specs, and even more about how he loved it. He keeps it safe in his garage while is Prius is left outside. He would have kept talking for another hour+ about his Tesla, but by that time my dogs were pulling me away. With such a raving fan, how could it be such a bad investment? Suppose that instead of spending $40,000 on the car, he just bought TSLA stock instead. Taking into account the recent stock split he could have bought stock at 70/share and get 570 shares...which would be worth $273,000. Then he could buy every Tesla model, plus cover his house with Tesla solar and still have extra Tesla stock. Instead his Model 3 is probably worth less than 30K.If you are a raving fan of a product, ALSO buy the stock of the company. then while you rave, you also help your portfolio!
