Note
news catalysts just came out.The US and China will temporarily lower tariffs on each other's products, with the US reducing its levies on most Chinese imports from 145% to 30% and China dropping its duties on US goods from 125% to 10%.
The joint statement aims to cool trade tensions and gives the two countries three more months to resolve their differences, with a mechanism to continue discussions on economic and trade relations.
The agreement is a step toward de-escalating the tariff war, but it is still unclear what an acceptable goal is for both sides or how long it will take to get there, with China previously demanding the removal of all US tariffs imposed this year.
