Risky Play For American AirlinesI think we saw a recent spike from American airlines as buyers are finding interest as price hit the top of previous major structure (green arrows) an s&r play.
Notice the spike of the candle where I have a red arrow drawn. To me this looks like an exhaustion candle as buyers got slapped back down. I some what agree with playing the previous structure as an s&r play, but for me it's too much of a risk.
I would need more time to see trend start to develop for a position on american airlines, as we do sit under Resistance.
Premarket is doing good, but I'm not looking at this from an intraday perspective. I say let it develop.

$AAL - Strong flag pattern set-up in American Airlines. I like the support zone here in $AAL for two reasons. They raised capital at a price of $13.50/share and obtained super favorable terms on bonds that won't be due for some time.
The volume today was over half the float. That is the third highest volume day in the last year and typically those can be followed by rapid rise type follow through.
Three of the biggest banks on WallStreet are running the $AAL offering and they are not likely to allow the stock to fall below the secondary offering price.
This gives American plenty of liquidity to navigate back to profitability as we exit Corona travel restrictions.
There was a really strong flag pattern in the daily on the stock. I expect it to create another post. Possibly as soon as tomorrow and think that move could be worth up to $3.24/share.

#AAL ANALYSIS.. BEARISH IN LONG TERM.. I think there is not much to say about #AAL.. Due to the pandemic disaster we are experiencing, the air transportation industry has been in a very difficult situation.. The cash flows of the airline companies are seriously disrupted and this situation seems to continue for a while, in this context, we can see much lower levels in the stock price..
Also, if we approach the situation in the technical scope, the symmetrical triangle draws attention on weekly chart, this is very bearish for American Airlines in longterm..

I wish you all the best..
$AAL Iron CondorHaven't posted on here in a bit. Figured I would share some plays that take advantage of the recent spike in volatility.
Airlines have taken an absolute beating, and if you put a gun to my head I would say that will continue. However I don't see it happening at the same pace and we should get a couple green days mixed in. The high IV has provided a very wide profit zone here, a range equal to nearly 50% of the underlying with only 3 weeks til expiration.

AMERICAN AIRLINES SELL FOR SHORT TERM, BUY FOR LONGER TERMFor short term, wait for the price to form a continuation pattern on lower time frame and watch strong price action for sell.
As a longer term investment, wait for the price to hit the bottom of the pattern and watch strong price action for buy.
Don't take a trade if you don't see clearly when big guys are in.
Bullish On Airlines? Kiplingers had an article on airline stocks that opened with "There's an old wall street joke about how to end up with $1 million worth of airline stocks...Start with $10 million."
"In 2000, nine airlines controlled about 80% of the U.S. markets. Today, just four companies control about the same percentages."
Looking at the major players American Airlines presented the best opportunity for a cheap buy on the pullback. Looking at the technicals, what we have here is a potential Gartley and Bat pattern completion which also lines up with a 61.8 Fibonacci retracement from this stocks all time lows.
Long-term I'm still cautious about ever being too bullish on airline stocks because of the numerous factors that can affect them but as a trader, if you're looking to get long this looks to be a prime area.
