Liquidity Pool / Stop Loss Explanation POE SignalA group member had a question about why the stop loss was "so low" being 23% under the buy price. The reasoning is you need to avoid the liquidity zone, where price could easily be pushed.
The purpose of our stop is to exit the trade if its no longer valid (not get stopped out only to see a pump happen afterwards). This could be another accumulation cycle, so we want to ride out the potential for a dip.
As normal traders we normally dont have to deal with extremely large positions. But the whales/institutions who do have to think about liquidity very differently than you or I. Order flow intersections are what they look for. They have to go TO the liquidity - which is many times where people end up placing their stops. They cannot simply accumulate or distribute a large position whenever and wherever they wish. Rather, they must look to those levels where liquidity is aggregating, and stops are helping them in an indirect way.
Without a Support/Resistance Finder (SRF) to help you, you can also/alternately use a volume profile as shown. SRF auto plots the S/R lines for the current range (all the horizontal dashed red and green lines are done by SRF). You want to place your stop BELOW where the liquidity is likely located - and also where your trade idea is invalidated.
In the opposite sense there is a liquidity zone above as well. Many times you will see price probe the same levels over a few days. This is testing the resistance and seller appetite. You can see this here in the 210+ area as price has been probing the upper resistance.
Bullfilter
BullFilter showing bullish divergence & long opportunity on QTUMAnalysis:
Correction ended, and accumulation nearing final phase. Spikes in volume combined with bullish divergence are showing the fingerprints of a pre pump situation. Breakout from this channel expected near term.
Entry Point:
General Entry is this range is fine, just look for a local dip/low. Looking to go long in the range of 530 to 550. See detailed screenshot below, using Bottomfinder to find best local entry.
Take Profit:
The dashed red lines represent target take profit levels. We suggest cashing out 10% at T1, 35% T2, 50% T3, 5% T4 (or let it ride if it still looks bullish).
Stop Loss:
Stop Loss suggested at 480, which is below the liquidity pool likely located in the 500-525 range.
Upon completion of T1 move stop loss to entry point to secure a risk free trade. Additionally continue moving stop loss up by one target each time a new target it reached. i.e. when T2 is reached, move stoploss to T1 level.
This way you can ride out dips with no anxiety and automatically exit the trade in profit should you not be around to monitor!
New Feature: Automatic divergence detection in BullFilter v1.3!With the upcoming imminent release of BullFilter 1.3 to our subscribers I wanted to highlight the new features in a series of ideas.
In trading, divergence is a concept that forms on your chart and results from the price action of a security moving in opposite direction to the indicator value.
What you need to know is that positive (bullish) divergence happens only when the securities price shifts lower while the indicator starts to rise. This indicates a weakness in the downtrend.
On the other hand, negative (bearish) divergence occurs when the securities price rises to a new high while the indicator fails to achieve the same momentum. This indicates a weakness in the uptrend.
Now since this is an automated detection, it may not signal the divergence for its entire length. You can also spot/chart divergences manually by drawing trend lines on price action and bullfillter values.
Then comparing the bullfilter value trend lines against the price trend lines to see if they diverge. An example of that is shown here
These divergences also go hand in hand with our other premier indicator . They can be used to filter out a potential long entry. I.e. do not long if a bearish divergence is present, and vice versa do not short if a bullish divergence is present.
To use this in your trading strategy, a short when bearish divergence begins/long when bullish divergence begins. The second divergence in a row is usually more accurate for a larger move. If entering a trade off the first divergence its recommended to exit it quickly and take profit.
The higher the timeframe you are on the more weight the divergence has. On sub 30m timeframes they are not particularly useful, and may signal too often or without effect.
GXSBTC - Get your bags early and ride it out!Analysis:
Correction ended back in mid August. Accumulation nearing final phase. Cup and handle pattern could play out though I do not think its very likely. I assume we will dip again and retest the next support level - which will be our entry...
Entry Point:
We are waiting to see if price will continue to drop and retest the lower support. Looking to go long at around 1850. See detailed screenshot below, using Bottomfinder to find best local entry. Using the prior BTF signals we can establish a range of likely entry. Wait for the strong bottom signal or when bullfilter value retests the lower channel boundary.
Take Profit:
The green lines represent target take profit levels. We suggest cashing out 15% at T1, 40% T2, 40% T3, 5% T4 (or let it ride if it still looks bullish ).
Stop Loss:
Stop Loss suggested at ~1500, which is below the liquidity pool and 3 established local support levels.
Strength building on BitShares BTS. BullFilter shows a Long.Analysis:
Correction ended mid August and accumulation has been going on since. The amount of selling in the 1500-1600 range represented capitulation of weak hands.
BullFilter showed a bullish divergence from Late August until Sept 12, when the price action finally caught up. With some nice recent spikes in volume some upward price movement is expected in the next 2 weeks.
Entry:
Enter between 1700 and 1750 upon the completion of this downward wave. Now that we know we want an entry in this range, we will use BottomFinder here to select us a great entry point (Example below)
Take Profit:
The dashed red lines represent target take profit levels. We suggest cashing out 10% at T1, 35% T2, 40-50% T3, 5-15% T4.
StopLoss:
SL set to 1600 to avoid the liquidity pool from 1650-1700 and being stop hunted. 1700 is also currently acting as local support.
