COT Strategy
LONG
Copper (HG)
My COT strategy has me on alert for long trades in HG if we get a confirmed bullish change of trend on the Daily timeframe.
COT Commercial Index: Buy
Sentiment: Advisors very bearish is actually...bullish.
OI Analysis: Multi week down move has seen OI decrease drastically while Commercials have added to longs = bullish.
Valuation: Undervalued vs Gold & Treasuries
Bullish Spread Divergence
Supplementary Indicators: Acc/Dist & %R
Remember, this is not a "Long Now" idea. These indicators are not timing tools. They simply tell us that this market could have a move of some significance to the upside, which we will participate in with a confirmed Daily trend change to the upside.
Good luck & good trading.

Copper bulls to return around $4.00?Price action on copper has caught our eye, as its pullback from the YTD highs has paused above the November highs despite a surging US dollar. RSI (2) is overbought on the daily chart, and yesterday’s Doji held above the 20-day EMA. It's also holding above $4.00, whilst money managers and large speculators have continued to increase their net-long exposure to copper futures despite the pullback on prices.
- From here, the bias is bullish above 3.95 and for prices to have another crack at the YTD high
- Another approach is to scale into such a position with a wider stop, with a view to increase exposure if or when momentum turns higher sufficiently enough to call a swing low.
Copper: the weak hands have been shaken out.Massive extensions are not uncommon:
Weekly chart:
The indices falling would not cause the price of copper to fall,
this did not happen previous it is not true that the price is tied
to the economy as what is told. Also chinese people use copper as a
safe store for their money.
Price went down in 2008 but this is irrelevant. Went up in 2000-2007.
Giants China and India are urbanising, demand for copper long term is up up up up.
Tech needs more and more copper. No brainer. Why wouldn't the price go up?
HIGH GRADE COPPER FUTURES (JULY 2019) (HG) 4-HR TIMEFRAME SHORTCopper prices have just broken out of a support level of 2.8495, with the former resistance at 2.9750. The market has completed the advancing and distribution stages, and has just started the decline stage. I expect prices to tank further, as commodities are in large sell-offs these past weeks. The price is also forming a new downtrend, as it makes lower highs and lower lows. Possible targets include the 2.6875 and 2.6565 areas. May the bears be upon us!
