Anglo American PLatinum just chose a direction - DOWN to R743.65After the AMS stock tricked us showing upside to come with the downtrend broken.
This is where Smart Money clearly came in and sold the hell out of it.
Now there is an M Formation accompanied with a Bearish Engulfing candle.
This is more bearish than not.

HOW IT GOT ITS NAME
Anglo American Platinum Limited, often referred to as Amplats, derived its name from its parent company, Anglo American plc, and its primary business of platinum production.
"Anglo American" reflects the origins of the parent company, which was established in 1917 by Sir Ernest Oppenheimer. The company was initially funded by British and American capital, hence the name "Anglo American."

Anglo Plat showing strong upside with inv C7&H to R1,500Inverse C&H has formed on AMS over the last month and a bit.
This has been the consolidation range as the downtrend seems to be coming to an end.
We are seeing signs that the price is nearly ready to break up and out of the pattern.

Sell Side LIquidity Order block has formed below the handle of the cup
Smart Money buys into positions (and sweeps liquidity) from traders who are long (get stopped) and for short traders who enter into their trades.
Bullish Bias
Anglo American PLatinum setting for upside potential to R1,644Potential Cup and Handle is forming on the daily.
We are seeing higher lows form and the supply side is dwindling.
Once we get a break above the brim level, it'll be all systems go.

SMC:
Sell Side Liquidity order block has formed below the formation. Each time the price touches, it runs up. That's because Smart Money comes in sweeps the selling from (Shorters) and long traders who gets stopped. They buy into the orders, which push the price up.
This gives bullish bias.
JSE:AMS Anglo American Platinum Re-accumulation Trading RangeAnglo Plat has had a good run but has now started to form a trading range. I have been following the accumulation of Anglo Plat since 2018 (See post below). It has had a great run after breaking the accumulation trading range (TR). We have seen a buying climax (BC) signalling the start of a smaller TR during the markup phase E. This could be a re-accumulation and backup to the breakout that is forming. Will watch for the action during the TR to time going long again when this is done. It may take a little time before this happens.
Amplats broken through supportAnglo American Platinum Ltd have had a good run of it over the last year. The stock has been very bullish but it would seem as if it has run out of steam and momentum.
As of the end of February, a big bearish divergence have occurred between price and the MACD. Since the formation of that divergence, JSE:AMS has also broken through support at about R720.
It might be a good time to go short, but I would like to get a better price than where it is currently trading.
Action: Place a limit order to go short at R720 with a stop loss set to R780. Set your take profits to R660 and R600 respectively.
Which Platinum Stocks to ChooseA comparison of the weekly charts of Anglo Platinum, Impala, Northam with their relative strength (RS) to the Top 40 is presented. A 40 Week or 200 Day MA has been put on both the price chart and RS. Anglo Platinum has the strongest momentum and is breaking a longer-term trading range (TR). Lonmin is still very week. Impala has had some recent strength in a wide trading range that potentially could be forming. Northam Platinum seems to be somewhere in the middle of a very long TR. Based on this Anglo Platinum is expected to show continued good strength and will be the stock to catch on the next leg up after a pullback.
JSE:AMS Anglo American Platinum Long AccumulationAMS has been in a range since 2013. Signs are that this range has been an accumulation range after a decline. After a spring in Phase C we have had a test on low volume in Phase D and signs of strength (SOS) according to a Wyckoff analysis. In Wyckoff language the SOS could be seen as a jump of the creek. There is currently a pause at the top of the trading range and today has seen a strong move on the daily possibly indicating that the markup in Phase E could start with sum increased volume on green bars.
It's time to bet on platinumFor almost two and a half years, JSE:AMS was stuck in a range of between R260 and R380, only once breaking out for a brief period.
In July of this year, however, the stock found good momentum, reaching a high of R500.37. It has since come off this high and is now offering traders a good entry point. Take a look at the above chart.
Firstly, note how Amplats is reacting to its 50-day EMA. It appears to be finding support at this level, which is a good indication that it could return to bullish momentum.
In addition, looking at the Slow Stochastic, JSE:AMS is somewhat oversold at these levels. For this reason I expect the share to turn to the upside.
Looking at the chart, I can't help but have a bullish view on Amplats and for this reason I will be going long on this stock.
Action: Place a Limit order to BUY at R460 with Stop Loss set at R425. I will aim to take profit at R495 and R520 respectively.
