Scalping
Scalper, Day Trader & Swing Trader | Choose Your Path
There are thousands of different ways to trade the market.
During the last 100 years, various trading strategies and techniques were invented.
One of the ways to categorize them is to split them by types of traders.
Such a category type will lean on 2 main elements:
trading frequency and time frame selection.
1️⃣ - Scalper
I guess 99% of newbie traders start from scalping.
Trying to catch quick market moves and become rich quick,
newbies are practicing different scalping strategies.
What is funny about scalping is the fact that such a trading style is considered to be the easiest by the majority while remaining one of the hardest in the view of pros.
The main obstacle with scalping is a constant focus and rapid decision-making.
Scalpers usually open dozens of trading positions during the trading session, most of the time being in front of the screen constantly.
Paying huge commissions to the broker and dealing with complete chaos on lower time frames, the majority simply can't survive the pressure and drop, leaving the pie to true gurus.
2️⃣ - Day Trader
Day trading or intraday trading is the most appealing to me.
Staying relatively active, the market gives some time for the trader for reflection & thinking.
Opening and managing on average 1-2 trades per trading session, the intraday trader is granted a certain degree of freedom.
However, with declining volatility , quite ofter intraday traders get a relatively low risk/reward ratio for their trades,
3️⃣ - Swing Trader
Swing trading is the best choice for traders having a full-time job.
Primarily being focused on daily/weekly time frames, swing trading is not demanding for a daily routine and aims at catching mid-term/long-term market moves.
With an average holding period being around 2 weeks and opening 1-2 trading positions per week, swing trading is considered to be the least emotional and involves low risk.
The main problem with swing trading is patience.
Correctly identifying the market trend and opening a trading position,
the majority tends to close their positions preliminary not being patient enough to let the price reach their target.
Which trading type do you prefer?

USD/CAD Bearish Double CorrectionPrice is trading slightly bullish, but from a technical view, we are turning into a bearish bias as a double correction pattern.
Waves/ legs (W) and (X) have occurred we have to look at how wave (Y) unfolds but it can be any corrective pattern. We can look for bearish trades at the current price or wait for the first leg of the correction pattern and trade the last leg, for example with a Zig-Zag you would trade wave C.

Price is currently on the wave A of wave Y sub-waves, we are in a bearish impulsive phase I don't expect any pullbacks as of yet.
US500 - Short - RR3Smart Money Concepts
During the london killzine (2.00-5.00 ny time) a draw on buyside liquidity took place. The draw on liquidity took out the previous high and formed a bearish market structure shift.
As a result of taking out the previous high and forming a market structure shift, a bearish breaker block has formed. Due to the strong bearish momentum, a bearish fvg has formed.
There's a difference between an imbalance and an fvg. We only take an entry on an fvg combined with a breaker. An fvg is a 3 candle formation that has formed immediatly after a draw on liquidity.
The overlap between the breaker and the fvg is our point of interest to take an entry. In addition, a bearish orderblock has also been formed, which will serve as a last line of defence for our stop loss placement.
As an extra confluence to the above strategy, at least one of the conditions below must be present as well (not all of them are required, one is sufficient enough).
1. MACD signal must be bearish for a short, or bullish for a long
2. MACD bullish divergence for a long, or macd bearish divergence for a short
3. Hull Suite green colored and price above the ribbon for a long, or Hull Suite red colored and price below the ribbon for a short.
4. RSI over bought for a short, or rsi oversold for a long
5. RSI bullish divergence for a long, or RSI bearish divergence for a short
6. Fibonacci golden pocket
USD/JPY - YES, Another quick Scalp for 10OANDA:USDJPY
A good start to the week.
Quick scalp for 10 hard pips TP, before it hit PWL (previous weeks low).
I tune out the nay sayers that scalping doesn't work, and that I should maximize the trade, which is actually a very smart and profitable strategy when executed properly with trade management.
But I do LOVE scalping and enjoying the rest of my day not being stressed, LOL.
Both techniques work, the key is Trade Management.
Trade well....
Taking a risk, but trusting the line upGoing to try and scalp out a retrace taking advantage of the retrace and range of volatility. I've been expanding on the original framework from all the activities leading to now, and I see a gap to try and take advantage of like it lines up in the past. Red line had a lot of attention so expecting price to go back down and fight before going anywhere else 🧐
