Bottoms UPSometimes, when your life is too routine and the things you are exposed to are more or less the same, you become complacent. Go to work, come home, cook dinner, play games, sleep. Repeat and rinse.
In trading/investment, it can be the same as well. If you stick to your own local markets, the companies that are very familiar with (strong brand name, you are the customers for years, good review, etc), then you might missed out good opportunities.
Good opportunities such as markets in Thailand, Korea, Japan and Malaysia. For STI (SG market), it has only rebound from the bottom of 23 March around 22%. If you do some research, reading the news, etc you would know that these markets are faring better than STI.
They went up on average 43% from the bottom. Why wouldn't one want to make more money given the same time frame? Risks?
Unless you are venturing into the stocks in these countries which your broker might charge for a higher commission and custody fee, you are better off looking at the ETFs in these countries.
KLSE index (Malaysia) is EWM ETF
Japan index is Nikkei 225 index (futures) which most platforms will have or EWJ ETF
SET index (Thailand) is THD ETF
KOSPI index (Korea) is EWF ETF
Please do your own due diligence as the above is an example only. There are many ETFs that invest in these countries that offer different components mix and expenses. You want to look for one that offers the lowest .
I remain cautiously bullish on Asia markets now that the various countries are slowly reopening their economies and businesses are coming back as well. The consumers would still have to accept some inconvenience like putting on masks, keeping a social distance, no dine in at food outlets, etc. Other than that, being able to resume back to their pre-Covid 19 days is liberating for many who find staying at home stressful and suffocating.
Again, this chart is not exhaustive as comparing all available tradeable Asian countries would make the charts looks confusing. So , feel free to make your own index and/or ETFs comparison and decide if investing outside of your country is worthwhile, offering you a better ROI, etc.
Set
SET 2020 outlook, go Long until OctoberAfter SET broke out north of the bearish wedge, I have revalued my earlier future strategy and predicted where SET will top this “going-to-the-stars” run, it will be around 1730 – 1800. Would also predict this will occur in or around November, December +/- 1 month.
So if my predictions are correct then follow the trend and continue to be on the buyer's side, at least until October or so. Then it will be (according to my prediction) time for investors start to realize, what has been built, is only a sand castle on the beach. And the tide has now changed —the second— wave is coming, it will demolish what has been built since late March. And we (read: buyers) have to wait until the tides change again, before reconstructing our castle and will hopefully stay a bit further away from the ocean so the tides won't demolish it again.
Next leader in Thai stock marketFinancial sector is leading the market at the moment but petrolium within industrials is also showing signs of strength. $BCT stock is in a buy zone:
1) Relative strength curving up on daily and weekly - potential outperformance
2) RSI in buy zone
3) Massive falling wedge approaching its apex, watching breakout today
4) Volume signature shows the presence of buyers.
Long Friday open.
SET - long-term positive trendSET index has finished a corrective 3-wave intermediate pattern that retraced around 50% and reached the fourth wave level of two lower degrees, which is a typical end of corrections. It is now finishing to trace intermediate wave 1 or A. We may see a smaller correction that should end at 1,200 - 1,250 range before the uptrend continues. FOLLOW SKYLINEPRO TO GET UPDATES.
High chance of the pullback to retest the supporting pointThis shape usually have a higher chance to break lower than to break higher. But its the good indicator to see wether it will confirm the breakout or it will go down to retest first. I’m ok with both. I already have tons of stocks which I bought at the very low price, and I still have cash to buy the discounted good companies.
PTT, One of my best trade this month so far.The price opened near the floor, at 26.75. I waited for the trend reversal signal. Bought at 28.00 and sold it all around 30.5. Very good profit due to the big position. If you are also at the screen this morning, you would also see that this is the very easy-to-spot big mover. The volume is just so good that almost everyone can make some profit there, I think. *I personally think that the stock open at such a low price is not only just because the panic, but also because of those Forced-Sell positions. I really feel bad for them. Sometime the market is very unpredictable.
