Uptrend
Uptrend HH and HL Trading examplehow to spot uptrend
1) adding a trend line in the chart which works as a support .
2) breaking of downtrend
HH : previous high
HL : previous low
trading uptrend market is simple
here HH is acting as a support so take time and add a zone at the higher high and analyze the candle (hammer , pin bar) perfect and at the bounce add some in to portfolio.
HL : price retest this zone and break the HH and again retest the HH as a support .
HOW TO TRADE MARKET STRUCTURE HOW TO TRADE MARKET STRUCTURE
1) WE CAN SEE THAT USDCAD HAS BEEN IN AN UPTREND MAKING HIGHER HIGHS & HIGH LOWS. THIS IS DISPLAYED WITH THE A-B-C-D MOVEMENTS
2) AT 'C' WE REACHED A KEY RESISTANCE ZONE AT 1.42500 RESULTING IN THE NEXT PHASE OF THE UPTREND TO CREATE A NEW HIGHER LOW AT D
3) AT 'D' USDCAD BEGINS THE NEXT PHASE OF OVERALL UPTREND AND ATTEMPTS TO MAKE A NEW HIGH. HOWEVER THIS UPWARD MOVE FAILS AS WE FAIL TO BREAK ABOVE 'C' & INSTEAD END WITH THE MOVE TO 'E', SIGNALLING A POTENTIAL END TO THE UPTREND
4) THE NEXT MOVE FROM 'E-F' CREATES A NEW SUPPORT LEVEL AT OUR PREVIOUS LOWER HIGH 'D' (1.41142) ZONE
5) THE NEXT MOVE FROM F-G IS AN ATTEMPT FROM BUYERS AT THE SUPPORT LEVEL CREATED FROM E-F (1.41142) TO TRY AND CONTINUE THE UPTREND HOWEVER 'G' NOW CREATES A LOWER HIGH
6) FROM G-H WE CAN SEE PRICE IS MAKING A THIRD TEST OF THE SUPPORT LEVEL AT (1.41142). A FAILURE OF THE SUPPORT LEVEL HOLDING GIVES US A GOOD ENTRY POINT TO ENTER A SELL POSITION WITH OUR PROFIT TARGET OF 105 POINTS AT 'H' (1.40000)

XRPUSD 4H BUMP & RUN SHORT STRATEGYBump and Run Trading Strategy – Sell Rules
The Bump and Run trading strategy is one of the best reversal trading strategies that you’ll probably ever need to learn. The psychological reason why the Bump and Run reversal is such a powerful pattern is because it takes advantage of the result of excessive speculation. This propels the price too swiftly to the extreme which leads to a reversal.
Moving forward, we present the sell-side rules of the Bump and Run trading strategy:
Step #1: Wait until you can identify an uptrend (lead-in) and then an acceleration of that uptrend (Bump)
We’re breaking down the Bump and Run chart pattern into several steps. The first step is to identify an uptrend and then an acceleration of that uptrend. These two components of a trend constitute the first part of the Bump and Run Reversal.
*Note: A valid Bump and Run chart pattern has the first section of the trend drifting upwards very slowly and in the second part of the trend we need to see momentum picking up and the uptrend moving to the extreme.
Step #2: Draw the lead-in trendline that connects the lows during the first stage of the trend and draws a second trendline connecting the lows during the uptrend acceleration stage
The way you draw the trendline can be a subjective matter because there are several ways to do it and neither of them is better than the other. Ultimately, it all comes down to your experience and understanding of the price action.
Step #3: Sell Entry 1 at the break and close below the first Trendline , Sell Entry 2 at the break and close below Lead-in Trendline .
In order to maximize our potential profits we like to implement a two entries technique as follows:
Sell Entry 1 once the first trendline is broken. For confirmation of a valid breakout, we like to wait for the candle close below the trendline .
Sell Entry 2 once the Lead-in trendline is broken. Wait for confirmation of a valid breakout we like to wait for the candle close below the trendline .
During this stage, the market is in the process of reversal and the “Run” component of the Bump and Run chart pattern is formed.
The Run phase is identified when the price falls and breaks below the Lead-in trendline which also confirms that we’re in the process of reversing the previous trend.
The next logical thing we need to establish for the Bump and Run trading strategy is where to take profits.
Step #4: Take profit at the Lead-in trendline starting point
The ideal profit target for the Bump and Run trading strategy is at the Lead-in trendline starting point. In other words, take profits at the exact same level you use to draw your Lead-in trendline .
We encourage you to experiment different take profit strategies because the Bump and Run chart pattern can also lead to a severe reversal that can be the starting point of a big bearish trend .
Step #5: Place initial SL above the swing high created by the uptrend acceleration. Second SL placed above the Lead-in trendline breakout candle
Since we’re splitting our trade into two trades, we’re going to have two protective stop losses. The initial stop loss is placed just above the swing high created by the uptrend acceleration phase.
The second protective stop loss is placed above the candle that breaks the Lead-in trendline .
We’re adopting a very conservative approach here because if we truly have a reversal we consider that the market should not look back. In this regard, we keep our SL very tight.
We also recommend that once your second entry gets triggered to move your initial stop loss in the exact location as the SL2. This will guarantee you that even if you get stopped out on your second entry you’ll still be left with some profits.
*Note: The above was an example of a SELL trade… Use the same rules – but in reverse – for a BUY trade, but this time we’re going to use the inverse Bump and Run reversal.
Technical Analysis Education - Simple TA on Weekly Chart - XJOTechnical Analysis Education:
ASX200 (ASX - XJO) Weekly Chart
For those of you out there who are new to trading, I like to keep my TA simple and clean. I also like to look at the bigger picture to understand what's happening right now. There can be a lot of confusion when an event such as a market crash happens. We can be reactive and emotional, which is normal, but not helpful.
See below the #XJO which tracks the ASX200. On the weekly charts its a clean upward channel, going through from the end of the GFC to now. Strong bullish trend with healthy pullbacks (corrections) You will note that the points value moves within this channel, bouncing as it goes.
Some points to note on the chart:
1. We are still in a #bullish market trend on the weekly timeframe (exclude the smaller time frames)
2. We haven't broken any major support levels.
3. We can expect to keep falling at least another 6% to said support.
4. We are still within the key #fibonacci levels of 38.2, 50 and 61.8. These are healthy retracement levels.
When to be concerned?
If we broke through our trend lines and fell below 5,800 points, we could potentially fall to 5,000 points or lower.
Make sure to look at the big picture!
Hope this helps
AUDUSD Inverted Head N ShouldersFor those that may have issues identifying inverted head n shoulders.
You can use the higher time frames to see if the picture is clearer.
The lower time frames can give you a lot and make a bad trade setup especially if you are not with the trend or not near significant price.
By that I mean if you are not at resistance or support, if you find yourself in the middle of nowhere let price touch that area first then reactive after.
You could have enter at the right shoulder at the opening of New York session, fortunately this trade had no drawdown but you could have given your self a 15 pip stop loss.
This overall trade hit TP for 55 pips it took about a day because AU is a slow moving pair.
THE TREND IS YOUR FRIEND... but don't trend trade!!As you have probably heard do not trade against the trend. I'm going to assume you know what this means but if you don't read the bottom paragraph first.
Trading with the trend is obviously much more beneficial to us, and its clear why we shouldn't go against it. But have you tried being a trend trader? Aka a person who tries to identify trends and rides these huge moves out and scales in along the way?
For starters markets range 90% of the time, so only in 10% of market conditions are you going to succeed. Assuming you don't miss the big move because of all the previous losers and break evens you had in ranging conditions which filled you full of self doubt.
There are people who successfully trend trade, and I ask myself why bother??? It is such a struggle, you have to go through so many loosing streaks and keep calm and collected until that big move comes and you're in on it. For me that is too much stress and too much of a strain on my brain.
Trade with the trend when there is one of course. Only buy if there is a clear uptrend and sell if there is a downtrend. But in my advice I would steer clear of trying to follow the trend orcatch these big moves; you'll get chopped up hard in between!
I like it simple. See where people just got wiped out by the banks and follow the big boys.

Another bull flag or a massive bull trap for a down trend
It appears we might be having a big run up if BTC price follows through upwards over the 9500 (red line) area towards 9800 - 9920, thereby creating what appears to be a bull flag.
Another range trading will then be within the flag before it shoots up but if goes down below the 9200 without hitting the 9800 area, I would assume that move invalidates creating a bull flag and prepare for a downtrend.
This is not a Trading advice. Just following the price action and putting down my opinion of things.
Matic network with possible 50% gain on SWINGThis is a quick update analysis about some of altcoins which have a good potential to grow and produce a possible huge profit in the near future. Let's do the technical analysis.
History is repeating itself is the most suitable quotes on MATIC here. we can see a similar pattern with previous structure in this huge up trend channel. we see a failure descending triangle which it broke to the upside. And in this current move, there is a possibility of it to repeating this previous pattern. A series of higher high and higher low can be a good reason for me to enter this trade.
If the price breaks out of the upper line of the triangle, I will enter the position and targeting the upper line of the huge up trend channel. 2 potential target that have the alignment with the previous price action is at around 230 and 270.
Watch out and let's be rich together.

Learning the Basics of an UptrendThis is the definition of an uptrend. An uptrend is the appearance of higher highs and higher lows, which creates the uptrend. It's best to enter the trade when the market price is at its low and remain through the trade, during retracements or "pullbacks" until the trade nears consolidation, where you'll likely catch a few hundred pips in the process. Understanding the basics is important in making a profitable market entry.

Pullbacks in Tradingin trading you will see this patterns over and over again this is how the market works.
Don’t let pullbacks scare you a pullback needs to happen in order for price to continue its movement.
If you see below on the chart if you have bought all the way down you could have got all that move up without being scared of pullbacks because you know and you are confident in your trading think like that and you will go far in the market.
This is a a very effective way of understanding where the market is going.
Only way a pullback can really damage this chart is if it breaks your buy position which it would have been all the way down from the first pullback.
Good luck in your trading.
The global trend is starting to change? How to understand when the global trend is starting to change?
The issue of trend reversal is very acute at the moment, because we are witnessing a rather long fall and one of the longest corrections now. And to be precise, this is the second biggest correction.
How to found out the moment has come and you need to urgently buy up everything so you do not cry you did not buy the Bitcoin for 6500, when it already costs 25k?
In fact, no one professional analyst or trader can say exactly the trend has reversed. There are always certain moments which just do not allow you to be 100% sure.
But we can give you some signs will help you understand it's time to make neat purchases:
1. Long fall. When you notice price decline continues for quite a long time, this is a sign the turn is getting closer and closer.
2. Falling volumes . If the volume falls noticeably in the long price decline, this is one of the strong signs an impulsive reversal is coming.
3. The price is on par or returns constantly to the same level. Certainly, the correction does not continue all the time, and if it can be seen the price returns to the level of the beginning of the rebound after local bounces, it means the “bottom” is somewhere nearby.
4. Slow motion. When the correction comes to an end, price movements slow down and overall volatility decreases dramatically.
5. Psychology of the environment. For example, when there was a big pump to $ 20,000 per bitcoin, all the people around were talking about cryptocurrency, everyone wanted to buy it, there was, so to say, an overload of the people industry. Then it was a sign it was time to close positions and wait for the falling. It is enough to interpret this observation.
These are the data we have noticed and collected to you understand the market could turn around. Surely, there are a lot of moments, but we gave you the most common and basic ones.
Thank you for attention! Let profit come to your home
Catch Me If You Can: Breaking Down the Elusive Elliott WaveHere's an explanation why Elliott Waves don't work most of the time, and then sometimes work perfectly.
Lets take a closer look at a single impulse wave up and its correction (I'm using 61.8% retracement and wave 3 = 100% of wave 1). You simply can't trade based on that (red dots), here's why.
If you treat it as 123 up trend forming (green count), you can't confidently:
1. short at the end of 1 to catch wave 2 because it can go higher (have an extension from 100% to 127.2%, 161.8% and 261.8%)
2. long at the end of 2 to catch wave 3 because it can go lower
- from 23.6% to 38.2%, 50% and finally 61.8% and then go up for the up trend 123
- up to 88.6% of wave W in wave X and then go up in Y (if this is X not 2)
- and even lower after that, break the start of wave 1 to reverse the trend down
3. short at the end of wave B (red) after a bounce from wave 2 to catch wave C (red), because it can go higher
- it can go up from 23.6% to 38.2%, 50% and finally 61.8% of prev swing wave A (red) and then bounce down as zigzag or triangle
- it can retrace as wave B (red) in a flat up to 88.6% and then go down still
- or it can even be an expanded flat wave B/X and retrace up to 138.2% of wave A (38.2% above the end of wave 1, Sometimes even 61.8%! and only then drop down)
- or it will go up in wave 3/Y = 100% of wave 1/W
4. long on breakout of the end of wave 1 to catch wave 3 because it can pullback
- it can be wave a of Y or lower degree iii or 3 and immediately pullback in b/iv below wave 1
- it can be an expanded flat wave B/X and retrace from 105% up to 138.2% of wave A (38.2% above the end of wave 1, Sometimes even 61.8%! and then drop down)
- it can be a short Y = 61.8% of W in WXY and then go down
That's why you are only supposed to buy on a retest of wave 1 after the breakout
5. long at the end of wave C (next bounce from the end of B) (red) because it can go lower
- it can become a triangle ABCDE and break the other way
- it can still be wave B and go higher up a bit then down in zigzag/flat (same impulse-correction fractal of a lower degree, same options, see #3)
- it can break the end of wave 2 and continue down as wave C from 61.8% up to 1.618% of wave A, although we mostly have short C = 61.8% of A in Bitcoin
So, on the long side you are left only with 2 not-so-tradable options:
- buy above 138% of wave 1 to ride a very small ~10% (100% - wave B retracement - 38%) chunk of wave 3 = 100% of wave 1.
However, the expanded flat can still go to 161.8% and wave 3 can end early at 61.8% as wave C/Y.
And if not that, this trade probably has a bad R/R and you will pay in fees a lot more that you possibly can gain.
- buy on retest of wave 1/A/W in iv/x after the breakout to ride wave 3/C/Y (100% - wave 2/B/X retracement) up to 38.2% in case of an expanded flat or up to 100% of wave 1 in case of wave 3/C.
And you can only to the 2nd option on the short side, because usually C = 61.8% of A, not 100%, invalidating the first setup.
But guess what, that's called trading breakouts from a range/triangle, and you don't need Elliott Waves for that.
Conclusion:
I just showed you that in most cases Elliott Waves don't really work, they give you a number of possibilities for both bull/bear cases, not trend direction.
You can't trade based only on Elliott Waves and fibs, without using other TA methods.
The trend is basically just a sequence of 2 impulses and then comes a wave 4 which can become the 1st impulse down and reverse the trend or go up in wave 5. Waves 3 and 5 are not guaranteed. The only thing guaranteed is a 2nd impulse following the 1st. But in the current market with unclear 3/5 wave structure, low liquidity, hidden bottoms and traps you can't clearly spot even the 1st impulse, so there might not be a 2nd one.
Continued Below =>
Example of a Symmetrical Triangle on VNQVNQ formed a symmetrical triangle. It has two trend lines. One uptrend line is acting as support while the downtrend line is acting as resistance.
This triangle contains three highs lower and three lows higher. When these points are connected, the lines converge as they are extended and the symmetrical triangle takes shape.
The symmetrical triangle can be continuation or reversal, so we must wait for which line will break. To confirm the breakout, the price should close above the resistance line or below the support line. In this case broke by support, then we must make a short.
The profit target is the distance away as the back of the triangle.
Example of a Rising Wedge on IBBIBB formed a rising wedge. Both lines are uptrend. The angle of ascent is steeper on the support line. The pattern form highs higher than previous and each low is successively higher as well. After a few attempts, the prices finally break through support.
To confirm the breakout, the price should close below the support line, if so, make a short. The profit target is the distance away as the back of the triangle.
How to Trade a Range and Potential BreakoutHello Traders,
All of us want the price action to follow the direction of our trade but that doesn't happen always. The price action has a natural tendency to move up and down; build ranges and develop patterns. Most of the ranges and patterns are like whipsaws and many traders stuck in these situations and lose money. The most effective ways to deal with such a price action is patience and a better strategy. When I say better strategy that means the one which keeps you ahead of the others.
In this backdrop, I have tried to spot better entry points in case the price action builds a range after a nice up move and we are visualizing a potential breakout on upside. The basic principle behind the strategy is to "Buy at the low and Sell at the high". It should be noted that the entry spots can not guarantee sure win but surely minimize our risk and increase the chances of reward. After an entry, stops can be placed either below the range or below the prior swing low -- whichever suits the situation.
Same strategy can be applied, in opposite direction, in case the overall trend is down and we visualize a potential breakdown after a range.
