Merck VCP BreakoutNice VCP with up volume clean breakout good %risk for positioning. Didn't buy as market is terrible and don't like defensive names as they are just names in which institutions are hiding. Its a bear market and I just want to keep my eye sharp on the patterns I like to buy from and be ready for when we have more favorable conditions. Let's see if it holds the stop.
PFEBought a small quarter position as its acting very well from a test to the 50 day inside a VCP pattern.
Position 8K, another 1.5% increase in exposure, now 21% overall invested.
Avg Cost: 53.35
Stop: 50
Risk: 6.28% (500 USDs-->quarter of "aggressive").
Market is correcting but my portfolio is on the green and my pilot stocks are holding ok. The 55 area is a key area of resistance.
LRN, a Nice VCP Breakout that its not from the energy sectorNice VCP pattern on an industry that is not Oil & Gas. Bought a small pilot position(6.8K,1.3%,500 USD Risk, my full defensive position to nibble in a tough market) to see if I can get traction on the terrible market which shows narrow leadership outside Energy. Looking for the opportunity of a bear market rally from here. Maybe 10-15% from the lows. My view is that macro is deteriorating fast so high odds we make lower lows for a third bear market leg, mean while ill just keep moving where the price and volume action looks enticing in a very defensive way.
Overall exposure after this buy: 7%
Buy point: 38.60
Stop: 35.85
R: 7.12%
Avg Cost: 38.69 (Black solid line) (First buys-->500 USDs Risk, Full Defensive)
The thrust of buying after the buy point crossing was so brutal I even got a price that was not registered on the Trading View Platform at the time. This reinforces the strategy of buying on lots after the alerts and then asses more buying further on. It squatted right away so i could buy the rest of my position when the price returned to the pivot.
Commodities Breakout from VCPPivot: 24.65
Stop: 24.25
Avg Cost: 24.75
Risk From Pivot: 1.63%
Position: Half Defensive (250 USDs) as stop is super tight and a strong gap down can be multiples of my risk.
VCP Breakout on the Goldman Sachs Commodity Index. Added some exposure to my portfolio with this small trade.
Over all exposure now 12.5% mainly on commodities and health sector. Waiting for trades to move handsomely from pivots so I can start taking some profits, moving stop losses, and maybe start getting more aggressive. One day at a time.
AVD Breakout, another pilot position.Added a new pilot position. Now 9% invested with 7 positions ranging from Oil & Gas, Pharma, Education and Chemicals specialty.
Im trying to put a toe in the water with a "Shotgun" approach meaning im adding different small breakout names of different industries. Well see if I get traction from here so I can de-risk my first tries and build from there.
Buy point: 23.55
Stop: 21.70
Avg Cost: 23.68
Risk: 7.85%
Full Defensive--> 500 USDs Risk, 252 Shares, 1.17% of portfolio. Now 9% invested globally on the portfolio.
