Volume Weighted Market Mean 3.0 [Dia]150924 - v3.0
This script is a complete rewrite of the previous version here .
It gathers market data from up to 8 different Bitcoin exchange pairs (8 is maximum due to script limitations). The influence of each single exchange can be customized individually, default is 50% for 0-fee exchanges, 10% for futures and 100% for all others. For each single exchange a standard deviation from the composite mean price and a average price range are determined. To make data from exchanges with different liquidity comparable, all single exchange price ranges are normalized to the range of the composite mean price. To make data from exchanges with different fee structure (= exchanges that constantly trade at a premium / discount) comparable, all single exchange prices are corrected by their respective standard deviations. To account for trade volume, all price data is weighted by the current candles volume.
- optional Heikin Ashi candle display
- optional EMAs
- lots of switches to play around with ;-)
Volume Indicator
BTC Volume Index 1.1 beta [Dia]Indicator calculates total volume across multiple bitcoin exchanges. The influence of each exchange can be adjusted seperately.
0 fee exchanges default to 50%
0 fee futures default to 10%
Define custom lookback periods for price breakout detection.
Look for low-volume price reversals in those candles immediately following high volume peaks. The lower the volume and the greater the open/close price difference of that 2nd candle is compared to the previous one, the higher the likelihood of a local top/bottom being in.
Note:
Bar highlighting is still experimental, future versions will include better filtering options.
Use for confirmation only, not as standalone trading system.
On Balance Volume/PriceFirst, look at the chart, then read.
Use OBV/Price to see a price adjusted by 'On Balance Volume' - (OBV), a momentum indicator that measures positive and negative volume flow, was developed by Joseph Granville and introduced in 1963.
The indicator, together with trend lines, provides good entry/ exit points.
In the chart note the exit point before the crash.
Also, note the "wedge" - a bit lees optimistic that the 'price only' wedge for SPY.
Dollar normalized volumeAn indicator that multiply the closing price with the current volume. (close X volume)
This will show the relative interest in the underlying asset regardless of the price change over time. For the case of FXCM, when the price fell from $16 to $1, its volume spiked 16x at the same time given the fact that 16x more shares can now be purchased with the same amount of dollar.
Enjoy! and remember to give a thumbs up.

WHAT IS THIS?
The following indicators try to acknowledge in a K-I-S-S approach to the eye (Keep-It-Simple-Stupid), the two most important aspects of nearly every trading vehicle: -- PRICE ACTION IN RELATION BY IT'S VOLUME --
A) My approach is to make this indicator both as a "Trend Follower" as well as a Volatility expressed in the Bands which are the weighting basis of the trend given their "Cross Signal" given by the Buy & Sell Volume Pressures algorithm. >
B) Please experiment with lookback periods against different timeframes. Given the nature of the Volume Mathematical Monster this kind of study is and in concordance with Price Action; at first glance I've noted that both in short as in long term periods, the indicator tends to adapt quite well to general price action conditions. BE ADVICED THIS IS EXPERIMENTAL!

Herrick Payoff IndexThe Herrick Payoff Index is designed to show the amount of money flowing into or out of a futures contract. The Index uses open interest during its calculations, therefore, the security being analyzed must contain open interest.
The Herrick Payoff Index was developed by John Herrick. When the Herrick Payoff Index is above zero, it shows that money is flowing into the futures contract (which is bullish). When the Index is below zero, it shows that money is flowing out of the futures contract (which is bearish).
The interpretation of the Herrick Payoff Index involves looking for divergences between the Index and prices.

WHAT IS THIS?
The following indicators try to acknowledge in a K-I-S-S approach to the eye (Keep-It-Simple-Stupid), the two most important aspects of nearly every trading vehicle: -- PRICE ACTION IN RELATION BY IT'S VOLUME --
Volume Pressure Histogram: Columns plotted in positive are considered the dominant Volume Force for the given period. All "negative" columns represents the counterforce Vol.Press against the dominant.
Buy to Sell Convergence / Divergence: It's a simple adaptation of the popular "Price Percentage Oscillator" or MACD but taking Buying Pressure against Selling Pressure Averages, so given a Positive oscillator reading (>0) represents Bullish dominant Trend and a Negative reading (<0) a Bearish dominant Trend. Histogram is the diff between RAW Volume Pressures Convergence/Divergence minus Normalised ones (Signal) which helps as a confirmation.
Volume bars are by default plotted from RAW Volume Pressure algorithms, but they can be as well filtered with Karthik Marar's approach against a "Total Volume Average" in favor to clean day to day noise like HFT.

Nadex Fx Volume Indicator Vv1By request
Nadex Fx Volume Indicator Vv1
Original source code & Credit goes to: Pip Foundry - Forex Market Volume from IDC

Volume Spike Analysis [marketsurvivalist]This indicator is based on the ideas about Volume Spike Analysis written about by Vincent Kott in his book Volume Spike Analysis. Formulas are presented in the book for another platform, but I wrote the script based on the charts he provided.
The indicator basically takes out the noise and colors bars based on factors of time and volume for day. There are three different time periods you can set: Short, Medium, Long. Each period can be set with a different color. The period value looks for highest volume bar within that period. If today's volume bar is the hightest value, it colors the volume bar based on the formatted color. It does not matter if the price bar is up or down. The defaults are 4 days, 20 days, 100 days. There is also a volume moving average available to show or hide based on you trading style.
The purpose is to easily see changes in volume. Typically, you would like to see volume rising as a new trend begins. This will show up quickly as you will see a cluster of rising red and / or purple bars.
DecisionPoint Volume Swenlin Trading Oscillator [LazyBear]This is the volume version of "DecisionPoint Breadth Swenlin Trading Oscillator"
DecisionPoint Swenlin Trading Oscillator can be used to identify short-term tops and bottoms. You can read about the interpretation of the signals (& gotchas) in the link below.
I have added support for NYSE / NASD / AMEX and also a combined mode. You can specify custom advancing/declining volume symbols too.

On request from SunnyBTC for trading Forex pairs that do not themselves have any volume indication.
The concept: A simple OBV that will display the volume of a security other than what you are charting.
Edit: This script has been updated.

Volume Accumulation Percentage Indicator [LazyBear]Volume Accumulation Percentage Indicator (VAPI) is a variation of the classic volume-accumulation indicators. It uses volume the same way as OBV except that it assigns volume weights based on intraday volatility.
In a positive trend, if the stock price is close to a (local) new high, the VAPI should be at its maximum as well (and vice versa for a negative trend). If the market is looking for a direction, if the price is in the bottom side of his current trading range and if, at the same moment the VAPI osc slopes up, there is accumulation on the stock and that the prices should start to climb. The SELL signal is given when the VAPI decreases (distribution). Divergences are usually very effective too.
Tuning the "length" parameter may be needed for your instrument (default is 10), do let me know if you find a different value to be optimal for majority of instruments.

Fisher Transform of On Balance Volume (by ChartArt)A simple mash-up of the On Balance Volume (OBV) indicator with the Fisher Transform indicator (blue) with the classic Fisher Transform signal trigger (silver color), plus a linear regression as a second signal line (red).
I recommend to use a period for the linear regression which has the same speed or is slower than the period of the Fisher Transform to avoid overshooting.
P.S. Here are three areas where the indicator worked quite good on historic charts
Volume BombI am republishing to use a clean chart. Previous one had too much of a mess. Idea for TradingView: Please allow us to change out the charts after publishing.
I like to know when volume spikes (only when it spikes). I am not interested in seeing the rest of the volume bars. I created this indicator to show me when it explodes (i.e. the name "Volume Bomb" , plus it sounds cool).
This indicator only shows you when volume exceeds the EMA of volume by whatever multiplier you set.
Default settings are the current volume with 10 EMA. Yellow arrowup will appear when volume is at 1.5x the 10 EMA.
Adjust it to your liking and particular stock.
