Where to catch the falling knife?So it's dropped a fair bit since I started writing this post, but needless to say, it would be best to wait and see something technical before a reasonable buy on a pull back could be justified. Looking at the weekly time frame, I'd expect a bounce from about the 115 level, so any bounce could then be judged on its own merits, if it's technical and showing signs of resuming back to the upside, then better to buy on a pull back from there (similar to the GBP chart), in what would be a lower time frame wave 2, than when it could just as easily keep dropping.

If you were watching Sunday evening football last night, you were potentially shocked when the US stock market opened this morning. News this weekend that Chinese start up Deep Seek has developed and produced A-I discounted chips, to glowing tech reviews this weekend sent NVDA down in a crash mode on Monday down 17 % and dropping losing billions of dollar valuation in a single trading day. What large institutional venture start up would now wish to pour billions of dollars into Nvidea's A-1 chips, when the same task result can be achieved at a fraction of the cost. 1/27/25 - $nvda - First time homie? bot ur bag.1/27/25 :: VROCKSTAR :: NASDAQ:NVDA First time homie? bot ur bag. - don't mean to be be flippant on a day like today. we r all down. - deepseek changes nothing IMO, except pulls fwd demand - capex budgets will likely remain flat but not down - nvda will be sold out this year and next - and you sold your bag because... - because you freaked out. you started believing everyone that said "the ai bubble has burst" and "the dot com moment" tweets hit your nerves (been there in dot com) and "chinese temu for ai" was something you could understand. - for those of us who have owned the best assets in a bull mkt, you have to understand that emotions cut both ways. and while YES THIS EVENT DOES MATTER and was something that changed the equation (as should be obvious by now), not just "rates" or "china" affecting some 1-2% sell off in mkt. yes this is different, yes it's harder to trade - does it change the fundamental demand for NVDA chips? that's the debate. and right now the market is shooting first, as it always does, and can't be blamed. fear and greed dominate. it went from greed... now fear. - you buy fear. you sell greed. - so we took profits and trimmed last week. now we are packing the second home with nvda shares and 2027 calls ($80C's are my flavor strike on the leap today). - does it go lower? - V always says. only god knows. It was going to go down but the gap was far larger than most traders expected and few traders were in this stock before the huge highly profitable sell short gap down. The reversal candle today is also surprising many traders when it was obvious that the stock had fallen below fundamental values visible in the trend and candles. NVIDIA's Technical Outlook After the Market CrashYesterday, the market experienced a sell-off that pushed most stocks into the red. One of the key stocks in the spotlight was NVIDIA (NVDA). From a technical perspective, NVDA had been drifting between the $130 and $150 range for the past three months without establishing a clear direction. During this time, the stock made several attempts to break above the $150 level, but all efforts failed – investors simply weren’t ready to pay such a high price. Yesterday, the stock finally found a direction: not above $150, but instead below $130. Slightly lower price levels have now taken over. Current Technical Outlook At the moment, the stock is once again trapped between two levels – $130 as resistance and $100 as support. Currently, the price sits in what I’d describe as "no-man’s land," and for me, the optimal buy zone would be in the range of $90–$107.5. If the price doesn’t reach this area (pre-market is already up 5%) and instead rebounds back above $130, we can react there, in what I’d consider a safer zone. For now, it’s best to let things settle. Opening positions at this stage might be risky; ultimately, it’s about balancing risks with your strategy. Personally, I always aim for the best possible prices or the safest scenario. For me, the lower zone between $90 and $107.5 offers the best potential value. Second Scenario Another approach is to wait for the price to break back above the current resistance level of $130 and secure a strong weekly close above it. This would signal that the price has moved into a potentially safer zone, suggesting that market panic may have ended well for NVDA holders. This scenario also allows us to take advantage of further potential growth. This Asian startup is positioning itself to offer services similar to those of current AI industry leaders but at a much lower cost. Additionally, its open-source model, unlike competitors such as OpenAI , has generated high expectations, marking a new competitive challenge from China to the U.S. in this sector. Nvidia has led the steep declines in the tech sector in the short term. Range Breakout: Recent selling pressure has caused a breakout from a consistent lateral range that had been in place since late October 2024. The movement has been so aggressive that the price has also broken below the 100-period moving average and is now struggling with the 200-period moving average. If the strong bearish pressure continues in the coming sessions, it could jeopardize the long-standing upward trend visible on the daily chart prior to this event. RSI: The RSI indicator line has quickly adopted a bearish slope, moving decisively away from the neutral level of 50. However, recent price action has brought the line closer to the oversold zone at 30 , suggesting that the momentum of the current decline is significantly imbalanced. This could pave the way for small upward corrections in the short term. Key Levels: $114: Current support level corresponding to neutral zones from August and September 2024. Bearish oscillations breaking below this level could strengthen selling pressure and establish a sustained bearish bias in the market. However, this zone could also trigger new upward corrections in the coming sessions. $131: The nearest resistance level, coinciding with the 100-period moving average. Oscillations near this level could restore market neutrality and potentially lead to a new lateral channel. $144 : Distant resistance level. NVIDIA Slides 11.5% as China’s DeepSeek 3 Threatens AI Hardware NVIDIA is down sharply from Friday's close, roughly 11.5% in the pre-market. What's interesting is that the price is trading below the December 17 low of 126.78, marking a new 2025 low. If the market can't close above126.78 by the end of today, there is a risk that the price continues sliding, potentially down to around 120, and in the worst case, to the September 18 low of $113 per share. The reason for the move lower is that a Chinese company has launched DeepSeek version 3, which is similar to ChatGPT but free, open-source, and significantly cheaper to run. They also trained it much quicker and at a lower cost. If they continue on this trajectory, there will be less demand for ChatGPT and NVIDIA's hardware. What is your take?
