GM Revving Up for a Short Ride UpGM Daily Chart Although GM formed a double top, it is showing signs of strength at a support level (green bar). If GM goes up in the beginning of next week, it will go up to 40. GM is close to the upper trendline of the channel. However, it will likely make a fakeout up to 40, where there is resistance from the gap. This will happen around the time GM's earnings are declared. GM's ride up to 40 will complete the fifth wave. Then it will be a ride down to 32, the next support level. by RS3175222

General Motors Surges on Dividend Boost, $10 Billion BuybackGeneral Motors (NYSE: GM) - shares powered higher Today after the carmaker updated its profit guidance following the United Autoworkers Union strike while unveiling plans to boost its quarterly dividend and buyback $10 billion in stock. General Motors said the six-week UAW strike, which ended late last month, would clip around $1.1 billion from the group's bottom line, but would ultimately improve free cash flows thanks in part to strike-related shutdowns at various facilities around the country. GM said it now sees full-year adjusted profits in the region of $11.7 billion to $12.7 billion, down from its prior forecast of $12 billion to $14 billion. Diluted earnings, GM said, would likely come in between $7.20 and $7.70 per share, compared to its prior range of between $7.15 and $8.15 per share. The carmaker also said it would boost its quarterly dividend by 33%, to 12 cents per share, starting in 2024 while immediately retiring $6.8 billion in GM stock through its new $10 billion buyback. GM's free cash flow forecast was lifted to between $10.5 billion and $11.5 billion, a $2.5 billion boost from the higher end of it pre-strike forecast. Price Momentum GM is trading in the middle of its 52-week range and below its 200-day simple moving average. What does this mean? Investors are still evaluating the share price, but the stock still appears to have some downward momentum. This is a Neutral sign for the stock's future value.Longby DEXWireNews2

The target price is set at 32.00 (just below its 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level). The stop-loss is set at 28.00. A breakaway gap seems to occur. Stocks pairs trading: GM vs FI'm diving into a pairs trading strategy featuring two titans in the automotive industry: General Motors (GM) and Ford (F). Both companies are household names with a rich history in the automotive sector, but their financial metrics reveal key differences that present a trading opportunity. I'm contemplating going long on General Motors and short on Ford, aiming to capitalize on their distinct financial landscapes. Why Go Long on General Motors (GM): Valuation : GM has a P/E ratio of 4.34, significantly lower than Ford's P/E ratio of 11.84. This makes GM comparatively less expensive and potentially undervalued. Dividend Yield : GM offers a dividend yield of 1.43%, which, while lower than Ford's 4.60%, comes with stronger fundamentals such as higher ROA and ROE. Profitability : GM's ROA and ROE stand at 3.88% and 15.14% respectively, much higher than Ford's ROA of 1.62% and ROE of 9.42%. Performance Metrics : Despite negative performance across multiple timeframes, GM's stronger fundamentals could position it well for a rebound in the longer term. Why Short Ford (F): Valuation : Ford's higher P/E ratio of 11.84 suggests that it might be more expensive relative to its earnings than GM, potentially making it overvalued. Short Interest : Ford has a higher short float of 3.67%, implying it could be more susceptible to negative market sentiment, thereby making it a candidate for a short position. Profitability : Ford's lower ROA and ROE figures compared to GM indicate less efficiency and profitability, supporting the decision to go short on the stock. Performance Metrics : Despite Ford's positive performance YTD, its weaker financial fundamentals compared to GM make it a riskier long-term investment. Decision: Long on 1 GM Short on 3 Fby joyny1
$GM - What will it be?NYSE:GM is currently at a critical support zone, trading at the lower trendline of a consolidation channel and near a Fibonacci support level. If GM breaks below $30, there's a potential for it to decline further to $26. The outcome depends on UAW negotiations, which could lead to either a bounce from the current support or a breakdown to $26. What will it be? 👀by PaperBozz2
General Motors is Still in the Game! Trading Idea for 06/10/2023Amid the UAW (United Auto Workers) strike, General Motors' shares reached a three-year low. The automotive giant's management is likely to eventually come to an agreement with the workers' demands. It is interesting to note that in Q3 2023, General Motors and its dealers sold 21% more cars than in the same period last year, leading to a 19% year-over-year growth in total sales. In addition, the implementation of electric vehicles has seen a 33% increase year-over-year. Once the strike comes to an end, this outstanding performance will likely be reflected in the growth of stock prices. Consequently, our focus today is on the General Motors (NYSE: GM) chart. On the D1 timeframe, resistance is currently at 33.43, with support at 32.18 having broken through this Tuesday 3 October. Yesterday quotes rebounded from a crucial historical level at 30.02. On the H1 timeframe, the short-term target for the price increase is around 35.25, while in the medium term, it could reach 44.75. — Ideas and other content presented on this page should not be considered as guidance for trading or an investment advice. GM - BULLISH SCENARIO General Motors (GM) made a counteroffer to the United Auto Workers (UAW) to resolve a three-week strike. UAW President Shawn Fain plans an update on talks with Detroit's automakers. The strike, including Ford and Stellantis, began on Sept. 15. GM's counteroffer is its sixth, but "significant gaps remain." Negotiations with Ford show progress on pay increases. Talks with Stellantis have been active. Ford offered a more than 20% wage increase over the contract's life. Other issues, like union representation at battery plants, remain unresolved. GM secured a $6 billion credit line due to the strike's estimated $200 million cost. UAW members at Mack Trucks will receive a 19% pay hike over five years in a tentative agreement. GENERAL MOTORS Confirmed buy signal.General Motors Company (GM) has completed 3 days of trading above the 4H MA50 (blue trend-line), with the 4H RSI almost 60.00. The long-term pattern is a Triangle and the recent Double Bottom was within the Higher Lows Zone that is in place since July 05 2022. Every time the price broke above the 4H MA50 after a 4H RSI oversold bounce on Higher Lows, we had a low risk buy entry at our hands. There is a 12-month Resistance Zone that we should revisit on the long-term but on the more short/ medium-term we will target the 0.786 Fibonacci retracement level at 39.00, which was the targeted extension on the Lower Highs trend-line during the July High. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** Please LIKE 👍, FOLLOW ✅, SHARE 🙌 and COMMENT ✍ if you enjoy this idea! GM, Building Massive Formation, These Levels Are Important!Hi my friends, Welcome to this analysis about the stock value GM, we are looking at the 4-hour chart, I noticed a divergence between the traditional car-industry stock like GM at the moment and the new electronic cars TSLA, while TSLA going down GM went up the last days. This is an interesting divergence worth to look nearer in, nevertheless, overall GM was one of the weaker stocks since the corona breakdowns and lows established, it is still trading below its all-time-high where others made already new highs and risings, therefore I detected the important levels and possible outcomes for this stock we should consider at the moment. Looking at my chart you can watch there this huge blue trading channel the stock is trading in, furthermore, it has an established wave-count where it recently completed wave A and B to now form the major wave C in the structure, this wave will run into resistance as the stock still has above in the upper boundary coming together with the black falling resistance line marked in my chart, when the stock approaches this cluster in red there is a higher possibility given for a bearish confirmation to the downside, setting up the next wave D in the wave-count, this can lead to the back-up-zone marked in blue in my chart and a set up for the final wave E which will complete the overall wave-count, this last wave will be highly crucial as it has the potential to confirm the channel the stock is trading in as a bear-flag, this scenario will occur when the stock comes into the zone of the lower boundary anew and closes below it which will cause highly bearish pressure to the downside and activation of lower levels within a high possible spectrum. The next times will show how the stock will continue with its eave-count and when there is a end, technically speaking as the stock is one of the weaker stocks trading below the previous established high, the bearish scenario should not be kept by side as it will confirm when the wave-count ends and crushes below the lower boundary as mentioned. This is currently the most likely scenario to come across with however there is a smaller possibility given that it will invalidate which will happen when the stock manages to hold the lower boundary sustainably and moves above the wave-count to form a new high. In this manner, thank you for watching, support for more market insight, good day to you and all the best! "There are many roads to prosperity, but one must be taken."
