$IBM 3-Weeks Tight PatternStodgy old NYSE:IBM has had quite a run over the last few months. I am sorry to say I have missed it. Earnings are now out of the way and as you can see, we have a 3-weeks tight pattern. It has recently been setting new 52 week highs as well. If you are a Wiiliam O’Neil follower, he states in his writings that a 3-weeks tight pattern can lead to some serious gains going forward. If you like you can read about it here: www.investors.com In any event, I have started a ½ half sized position here and have my stop just below the most recent low. Seems like a pretty good risk reward to me. But it’s all TBD. Ideas, not investing / trading advice. Comments always welcome. Thanks for looking. IBM - The Forgotten StockHello Traders, welcome to today's analysis of International Business Machines. -------- Explanation of my video analysis: All the way back in 2012 IBM created a major top formation by breaking below strong support at $180 and we saw a significant decline in stock price from there. After we then saw a reversal and a breakout in 2022, IBM is certainly back to a bullish market. Notice how the current price of our chart IBM is nearing its highest point in a decade, suggesting it's not an opportune time for purchases. This is because structure can change once we get to the top and room for making a proper reward against risk is much limited. Investors who bought at the bottom in 2020 will begin liquidating their position which might result in stock prices coming down. For the chart I will be keeping a keen eye at the top to see how price would react. This can be shown over & over in many other charts to help investors with entry points. How to play IBMHow to Play IBM with the least risk I am looking at a few possible scenarios' for taking a position in IBM with the least possible risk. Scenario 1 Price drops below 1/25 low, but not by much and then starts moving back up. I would take position long with a stop about .20 below the low. I would take 1/2 profit once I get a 2/1 return. Scenario 2 If price moves to a new high I would enter with a the knowledge that this a risky entry as I see it. It could easily be a "look above and fail", in which case it could easily go slide tot he bottom of the recent gap. Personally, would not do this unless it starts build a tight range between 190 - 196, and I would reevaluate. Scenario 3 price moves to the origin of the Gap. Once I see confirmation that it is making a move up I would enter. I want to see the gap filled. That's at the 175 area. Ideally I would love to see it retrace to 167 area.
