2020: Covid19 Leads to the Internet Retail BoomFirst off, please don't take anything I say seriously or as financial advice. As always, this is on opinion based basis. That being said, let me get into a few of my insights. This isn't a prediction post. This is a generic post to talk about a very noticeable trend. During the Covid19 period, you seen a result of the digitization economy. Lots of the traditional industrialized corporations were negatively impacted while many of the internet retail businesses received major booms. This isn't just indicative of the whole Covid19 reaction and price corrections, but also indicative of where the future seems to be heading in terms of consumer activity.

Massive Inverse Head & Shoulders.It appears as though Overstock has formed a nice rounding bottom, which is now turning into a Cup & Handle potentially.. There's a few bullish indicators & even more so there's Macro events taking place with blockchain in China that are likely going to take this stock to new All Time Highs. tZERO said Hong Kong-based private equity firm GoldenSand Capital (formerly known as GSR Capital) has bought a 5 Million stake in the company. I wouldn't be surprised If Chinese investors are supporting this stock heavily now, especially since China is rolling out their new digital currency. McDonald’s and Starbucks are reportedly part of China’s digital currency trial. China has rolled out a digital currency trial in Xiong’an, an area southwest of Beijing in the Hebei province, according to state-backed media reports. McDonald’s, Starbucks, and Subway are the only three American firms among 19 companies participating in the trial. The People’s Bank of China (PBOC) has been working on a digital yuan for the past few years but has made clear that it has not yet officially launched. McDonald’s and Starbucks are among a handful of companies taking part in a new pilot program for China’s upcoming digital yuan, according to state-backed media, as the world’s second-largest economy pushes forward with its plans for an electronic currency. This is the main reason why China propaganda has become dangerously provocative in America. China is rolling out a cryptocurrency, a lot of the details have not been divulged. I can tell you the cryptocurrency China’s rolling out will likely be backed by gold. China’s got 20,000 tonnes of gold or more, add the fact they are dumping U.S debt & treasuries at an alarming rate, it's plausible they'll bring back a gold standard for the new century.

OSTK bounces from all time lowsI suggested a few days ago that $OSTK was a risky play, but it has bounced very nicely in the last couple of days and now is a whiff below $4. Recent positive events: - Jonathan Johnston, CEO, buys 30,000 shares yesterday at $2.6 - Appointed a permanent CFO in the person of Adrianne Lee, from Hertz NA - Patrick Byrne, ex CEO, is now able to buy the stock after his lockup expires (6 months after he was ousted) - E-commerce is well positioned during the COVID-19 lockdowns - there are 7,590 open interest puts expiring tomorrow - likely they have been sold and someone may be interested in them expiring worthless Given the stock has no debt and a good amount of liquidity to withstand the turnaround in retail, while BTC price is also bouncing to the $6,000s (furthermore strengthening the Medici portfolio), the stock is on a good path up but remains not for the faint of heart, given that the sudden drawdowns have been brutal to shareholders.

OSTK - incredible mismanagement and risky play$OSTK has been in tumultuous times since the sudden departure of Patrick Byrne. His handpicked successor, Jonathan Johnston, has lost in six months the market's confidence due to a series of incredible missteps: - Announcement of retail sale have pretty much stopped, and the ship has not been turned around yet. Wayfair being in deep trouble and retrenching could be an opportunity, but the track record of OSTK management remains spotty at best - Shares dilution continues, due to the ATM with Jones Trading, still available for $100M+ - Management team seems still reeling. They have recently announced a new CTO and a permanent CFO - Medici and digital ventures remain a black hole, this time having raised capital from outside. The digital dividend implementation continues to remain a source of uncertainty, and Bitcoin's recent crash does not portend anything good at the horizon On the other hand, the stock has been incredibly punished and currently hovers around $3 a share having crashed 2/3s of price in the last three weeks - and has not rebounded on March 13 (W went up 18% on the same day) I do not believe it is going to go bankrupt in the short term, therefore I would make a speculative play going long. Positive catalysts for a rebound are: - Overall recovery of economy and stock market in the second half of the year - Recovery of BTC price - Acquisition of the company

Is OSTK trading in a Ascending Triangle?It appears as though $OSTK is holding support above the 200 Day MA & potentially trading in a Ascending Triangle. The trendlines of a triangle need to run along at least two swing highs and two swing lows. Ascending triangles are considered a continuation pattern, as the price will typically breakout of the triangle in the price direction prevailing before the triangle. Although, this won't always occur. A breakout in any direction is noteworthy. A long trade is taken if the price breaks above the top of the pattern. A short trade is taken if the price breaks below the lower trendline. A stop loss is typically placed just outside the pattern on the opposite side from the breakout. A profit target is calculated by taking the height of the triangle, at its thickest point, and adding or subtracting that to/from the breakout point.
