Strategic Portfolio Optimization ahead of a Changing Economy Today marked statistically a change in a few parts of the economy here in the U.S. First and foremost, I will be being active in actually acting forward looking by protecting certain aspects of my portfolio with certain sector risk exposure. Protecting my capital in terms of both capital loss of YTM and also exposure to inflation specific-asset classes. I will be adding long REIT's such as $EQIX for long term holding of varying a few months if not over a year, with additional non-marginalized positions to come.
The transition from deflationary (heavy depressionary) to stagflation, which today showed the first technical data prints of such. Regaurdless, we still technically aren't in a recession according to the trule book, so the last thting I'm trying to to suggest right now us to follow the rules.

EQIX analysisSupport and resistance areas on the daily chart plus a bullish head and shoulders pattern.
Equinix Inc Attempts BreakoutEquinix Inc may be highly valued but the strength in the chart can not be ignored, volume is in a steady increase despite those valuation concerns.
Indicators are all bullish and in particular the volume increase.
$600 looks like the inevitable target and if that breaks a sizable reward could be ahead for investors.

[Idea Long] EQIX and REITsAs we face a possible recession, lower interest rates, and future QE, real estate sounds like a good investment.
Indeed, as the stock market sells off we see this technology REIT, EQIX, poking at new highs in an ascending triangle. I've been watching this hoping for a pullback, but it hasn't really come. In hindsight, this REIT and others have performed amazing as interest rates fell.
I will patiently wait for an entry. Maybe it comes when the stock market looks like it's collapsing.

EQIX long Took a small position in EQIX through this 434 area. So far nice move, waiting for pull back, will sell in too spike tomorrow if there is one.
$EQIX Bullish Pennant - $16M Unusual Options Activity$EQIX Has formed into a bullish pennant in the last week after a strong post-earnings run up. Price has also broke out of a long term bull flag that began after November 2017 peak.
Expecting this to break higher in the near term...monitoring for a move above $430 on decent volume.
Medium term target - $460 by mid-April
Long term target - $495+ by 4th of July
Adding to the bullish sentiment, there was some unusual options activity today with ~3,600 March 15th (near-term) $360-$380-$390-$400 strike calls traded vs combined OI of only ~700 for a total premium outlay of over $16M. All of these options are fairly deep in the money with very high premiums (avg price $4,600 per contract).
Also of note, Equinix executives will attend three upcoming investor conferences (note: all occur prior to the March 15th expiration on above call options):

This pullback will provide opportunity to buy cheaper shares of company w/ high growth rate. It's like the Amazon of cloud connectivity. (its PE is insanse just like amazon's too due to growth potential.)
