Batu Kawan Bhd. is an investment holding company, which engages in chemical manufacturing, transportation, property investment, and plantations businesses. It operates through the following segments: Plantations, Manufacturing, Property Development, and Investment Holding and Others. The Plantation segment is involved in cultivation and processing of palm and rubber products. The Manufacturing segment focuses on the manufacturing of chemicals and transportation services, oleochemicals, non-ionic surfactants and esters, rubber gloves, parquet flooring products, pharmaceutical products, storing and distribution of bulk liquid, refining of palm products, kernel crushing, and trading of palm products. The Property Development segment refers to the development of residential and commercial properties. The Investment holding and Others segment invests in quoted and unquoted corporations, investment in money market funds and placement of deposits with licensed banks, farming, management services, and specialty chemicals manufacturing by an associate. The company was founded on December 9, 1965 and is headquartered in Ipoh, Malaysia.
