$PTRA An Electric Dead Cat BounceOn August 7th, Proterra Inc. (NASDAQ: PTRA) filed for bankruptcy due to its inability to pay off its current liabilities. As a result, the stock fell 87% and could continue its fall over the coming days. That said, bankruptcy plays have proven to be extremely popular among traders which could see PTRA stock have a dead cat bounce soon. While a dead cat bounce play is extremely risky considering the company’s current situation, investors could wait for a consolidation first to buy before its delisting on August 17th
PTRA Fundamentals
As things stand, PTRA stock is spiraling downwards after the company declared bankruptcy. So far, the stock fell 87% in response to the news, but it is worth noting that the stock could continue dropping over the coming days since the company is basically going out of business. Despite this, the stock may be poised to witness a dead cat bounce once it starts consolidating in a similar fashion to other bankruptcy stocks.
Bed Bath & Beyond
A prime example of a dead cat bounce is Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. (OTC: BBBYQ) which fell 83% upon declaring bankruptcy. However, that did not stop the stock from running afterward as it soared 127% after consolidating between $.17 & $.23. The stock then consolidated once again between $.27 and $$.3 before running for an additional 45%.
Cyxtera Technologies
Another example of a dead cat bounce after bankruptcy is Cyxtera Technologies, Inc. (OTC: CYXTQ), which fell nearly 50% overnight due to news of its bankruptcy. The stock continued gradually falling afterward until it reached $.02 where it started consolidating in that range before running 346% and reaching a high of $.087.
Considering the risky nature of bankrupt stocks, approaching the stock with haste is not a wise decision. In order to mitigate the risk associated with investing in bankrupt companies, investors could wait for consolidation before making a play on PTRA stock.
Technical Analysis
PTRA stock was trading in a neutral trend as it was trading in a sideways channel between $1.04 and $1.38 which it has broken after declaring bankruptcy. Looking at the indicators, the stock is below the 200, 50, and 21 MAs which is a bearish indication. Meanwhile, the RSI is extremely oversold at 8 and the MACD is starting to curl bullishly.
As for the fundamentals, PTRA stock may continue falling in the coming days after the company filed for bankruptcy. Given the popularity of bankruptcy plays, investors could wait for the stock to consolidate at new lows first before buying ahead of a potential dead cat bounce. With this in mind, there is no guarantee such a bounce may occur which is why investors should note that investing in PTRA stock and other bankruptcy plays is extremely risky.
PTRA Forecast
After falling 87% on filing for bankruptcy, PTRA stock is one to watch closely over the coming weeks for a dead cat bounce that may occur when its delisting date of August 17 approaches. Having said that, the stock may continue dropping to new lows over the coming days before consolidating which may be the time to start buying the stock ahead of a dead cat bounce. While a dead cat bounce may provide traders with major gains, it is not guaranteed to occur and investing in the stock is extremely risky.

Stocks rise as they rise from support and fall from resistance. Our goal is to find a low support point and enter. It can be referred to as buying at the pullback point. The pullback point can be found with a Fibonacci extension of 61.80%. This is a step to find entry level. 1) Find a triangle (Fibonacci Speed Fan Line) that connects the high (resistance) and low (support) points of the stock in progress, where it is continuously expressed as a Slingshot, 2) and create a Fibonacci extension level for the first rising wave from the start point of slingshot pattern.
When the current price goes over 61.80% level , that can be a good entry point, especially if the SMA 100 and 200 curves are gathered together at 61.80%, it is a very good entry point.
As a great help, tradingview provide these Fibonacci speed fan lines and extension levels with ease. So if you use the Fibonacci fan line, the extension level, and the SMA 100/200 curve well, you can find an entry point for the stock market. At least you have to enter at this low point to avoid trading failure, and if you are skilled at entering this low point, with fibonacci6180 technique, your reading skill to chart will be greatly improved.
If you want to do day trading, please set the time frame to 5 minutes or 15 minutes, and you will see many of the low point of rising stocks.
If want to prefer long term range trading, you can set the time frame to 1 hr or 1 day.
PTRA - No Love For The EV Bus😿There wasn't much love for the little EV bus that had an enormous post earnings capitulation.
This looks like a massive over reaction and now for the first time ever PTRA is oversold on the weekly RSI and currently holding this area well.
PTRA had been trending in this long pitchfork and the downside crash suggests a selling climax.
If you see the value in this EV bus in the Smart future then this could be a golden opportunity to pick up some shares at rock bottom prices.
Not advice of course DYOR
PTRA - Another Capitulation Wave DownPTRA
All the action is in EV today. PTRA down 10% already today in tandem with TSLA collapse.
This looked somewhat promising as it probed out of the pitchfork although the clue was that no other EVs were moving with it.
But after the 3 wave completion there were 2 shorting opportunities as it fell back into the pitchfork. One was positional, the other with momentum.
And imo the momentum trade was the much safe option with the SRP (Shakeout Reversal Pattern) probing back into the dotted warning line entering near the candle close.
Heading for a massive capitulation.
I didn't trade this one but just to show the working.
Can't think of a worse market for hodlers 😸.

PTRA - Pitchfork Breakout! 😲These EV's have been getting smashed up so bad but it may finally be time to consider an entry.
I've been tracking quite a few of these for some time and they've been long locked in these pitchfork channels.
This week PTRA will print a whole candle body outside of the pitchfork channel and that is worth noting.
Also worth noting is that most other EV's are still locked in their pitchfork although some of them have had some impulsive days.
But anyhow I won't be buying up here...
I will wait for a pull back and look for good technicals to get in 👍🏻.
TLDR: I am not getting long here I am waiting for a pull back.

PTRA - Return of EVHaving being smashed to a pulp, a few EV names have been popping recently and here's one of them.
PTRA also pushed by earnings is having a pump and looking at the weekly RSI its fairly clear this is a breakout not a retracement.
Its bounced just further than a common fib overshoot.
So this looks good 😺.
And with indexes probably turning bearish in probable retracement, this will most likely re-test the $5.04 1.618 fib at which point I will probably buy.
Alarms set - i'll be back to this.
Not advice.
PTRA - Did I say $8.5 Sorry I Meant $6 In my previous PTRA I said it would get to $8.5 and we're nearly there.
However these very large bearish candles have showed and will show that there is another wave down at least before this trend is done.
Good chance weekly RSI will go oversold and we'll see where it is when price hits the 0.618 extension.
See you @ $6.

Proterra PTRA (1D) Mid Term Plan - LongHi Traders,
This is just my Idea about very potential company for next 5-10 years. (If electromobility can win th battle against hydrogen, than this is one of TESLA competitors.)
Consider your RRR Strategy + Fundaments (Entire market could get into Bear market as well).
Buy zone right now is around 10-7 USD ... Sell zones are marked for partial take profit.
Always look for RSI and MACD Convergencies / DIvergencie - in this ase at least 1D/1W timeframe.
Good luck and enjoy the game ;)

PTRA struggling to trade past 10.50 Proterra is a fast growing EV bus business that should keep revenue increasing for many years. The company, while young, seems to already be having a real impact, and their business model is solid. What is attracting many investors is the enormous size of the target addressable markets. For Proterra Powered the TAM is ~225 billion, and for Proterra Energy it is estimated at 37 billion. The markets are large enough to allow for a significant growth runway. With the infrastructure bill still as a looming catalyst, I expect PTRA to make a significant move higher before years end. We are currently seeing resistance around that $10.50 level, once we get the infrastructure bill passed which would allocate over 7B to EV busses we should see PTRA break that resistance level and shoot higher.
PTRA - Proterra - Long Term Hodl Key risks:
- Product quality issues, returns, complaints
- Not achieving revenue growth targets (60+ % CAGR until 2025)
- Decrease in projected long term margins
- New players entering the market
- Supply chain issue and commodity risks
- Underutilization of government funds
- Management fail - execution risk
Key strengths:
- Developed and tested products
- Produced in the USA
- First-mover advantage

- Experienced management
- Great reputation, connection with key players in the auto / trucking industries (Daimler, etc).
- Secured battery cells supply produced in the USA for the next 5-10 years
- Low valuation levels
- Explosive industry growth
Single biggest advantage:
- Not rolling busses down the hill
Single biggest threat:
- Quality issues destroying the long-term value of the business.

PTRA - Little Gem Falling Down A CliffPTRA could potentially be a great buy down the road, but for now its been caught in a steep downtrend - collapsing 30% and leaving investors wondering.
Many are piling in thinking this is a steal right here.
But is price done? Is the bear market over?
RSI showing well overbought.
However, price looks like it may be forming a continuation pattern. That recent star does not fit well into a bottoming pattern and could show there is another leg down. If price carries on further then it looks like it will form a 5th wave of a higher degree ABC from the top.
This would find a very overbought bottom and really would be a steal.
One to keep an eye on. That star will also reveal potential invalidation.

PTRA $25 Price TargetPTRA
Current Price $17.10 Price Target $25
Just this week Proterra and Miami-Dade agreed to install one of the largest fleet charging systems in the U.S. with 75 Proterra chargers across three bus routes. Miami-Dade's purchase of 42 Proterra electric transit buses brings its fleet to 75 Proterra buses With 19 megawatt-hours of battery storage capacity, the project demonstrates Proterra's ability to offer full fleet electrification technology solutions to commercial vehicle customers. This deal also shows Proterra’s competitive edge in EV bus market that should attract a large amount of government investment over the upcoming months and years. A big catalyst for PTRA is the infrastructure bill which saw some positive developments last week as the Biden administration and moderate senators are close to a deal. This deal would allocate $7.5b to EV public transport, given PTRA is the clear leader in this sector PTRA would benefit greatly from this deal.
