NASDAQ:SHLS => beat? - NASDAQ:SHLS is super shorted - valuation not egregious. - options chain paying a lot for higher expires... expect volatility - solar names seem held hostage by "energy" e.g. look at oil, uranium... it's similar flows. but on the margin there seems to be a bid swelling and a lot of the crap solar names have gotten properly washed out. NASDAQ:NXT > NASDAQ:ENPH > $fslr... NASDAQ:SHLS probably 4 and NASDAQ:ARRY maybe 5? - buyer into print, seems to have some wings. V

5/15/24 - $shls - beginning to enter but w/ selling some 1mo C's5/15/24 - vrockstar - NASDAQ:SHLS - well... here we go 6's. can enter now below the $6.5 level by selling 6/21 7.5C's for 30c if you desire. we start to hit below 30c lower from this entry... and i will begin buying size without selling C's. slippery one but 1) not the first bid in this tape b/c 2) trough EPS this yr w/o look thru 3) some silly lawsuits that are at least hitting the newswire. bogus - but the lawyers gotta manipulate stocks as they always do - ironic. 4) and not obvious where is the bottom of this knife here. again per previous comment/ i believe this is probably closer to $6. but value here if you can use options like selling those 1-mo out for 30c can get you a lower basis.

5/8/24 - $shls - tough to own >$7, but patient for mid $6s5/8/24 - vrockstar - would LOVE to own this in the $6s, do we get there today? "probably not". what's my math here - simple. name has debt, and despite cash gen we're not paying it down in any "one year+" context. so it really comes down to say FCF yield, which at current open levels is in the ~6% range. not high enough for a tough industry/ high financing requirements needed (so rates need to actually start to decline... 2H... so perhaps you own in end 3Q/4Q all else equal?) BUT if if i thought about what it's worth "today" i'd say trough multiple on 60c of EPS power (perhaps the multiple is too low at 10x, or the EPS could still see revised downward - probably - you pick - so i'm shooting in the middle) - that's a $6 stock. again the debt matters. 6% gives you high single digit nearly 10% fcf yield and the stock is an obvious buy. I think anything less than 7$/shr is good 12-18 mo money, but in order to make money into year end, i'd suggest you should simply set an alert at $6.50 and decide how to size manage from there. tricky name. highly shorted. but needs another catalyst to start convincingly moving in the upward direction. caution to protect your PnL for now.

SHLS daily - long position after breakoutTHE CONSISTENT TRADES analyze SHLS as a bullish/strong fundamental stock and therefore would be traded only in a long position. SHLS is inside a symmetrical triangle which would be bullish when a breakout occurs. Even though it is bullish fundamental stock, its price moves are more bearish than bullish as those red days are on big drops while volume is bigger on down days than up days. It is below 8, 20, and 50 days MA but above BigRed which is bullish. Volume, for now, is more on the bear side. RSI is neutral. MACD is more bearish than bullish. Overall: SHLS needs to move above all major MA and then on a bigger volume breakout of a symmetrical triangle to trigger a long position. Even though it is a strong company, its price looks like it could drop before earnings. In the case of moving up and breaking out of the triangle, the long position would be above the blue dotted trendline. In the case it drops below the trend line, a short position would NOT be triggered due to the fundamentals of the company.

Volume is confirming Friday's price move because it is almost double 20 day average. RSI is neutral. MACD histogram is ticking lower which is bearish while both lines are bullish. Overall: SHLS is consolidating around these prices for a longer time. Bullish moves on Friday are showing there is more possibility for an up move than a down move. If it continues to go up it will be a bull Pullback which is bullish and with a possible break out of a symmetrical triangle we would be in a long position. If the price continues to fall, until it is inside the triangle it is still an opportunity for an eventual breakout later. Long trade would be triggered if it passes the blue dotted line.
