GMS, Inc. is a holding company, which engages in the distribution of wallboard and suspended ceilings systems and complementary interior construction products. It operates through the following segments: Geographic Divisions, Other, and Corporate. The Geographic Divisions segment consists of Central, Midwest, New York, Northeast, Southern, Southeast, Southwest, Western and Canada, and Ames. The Other segment includes Tool Source Warehouse, Inc., which functions primarily as an internal distributor of tools, and Ames. The company was founded by Richard K. Mueller and Richard A. Whitcomb in 1971 and is headquartered in Tucker, GA.
