Primary advisor
Hamilton Capital Partners, Inc.
The fund-of-funds is the first Canadian bond ETF to employ a covered call option writing strategy while investing in US Treasurys of various maturities. The portfolio adviser reviews and invests in US Treasury bond ETFs by considering AUM, liquidity, availability and liquidity of options, distribution yield, and management expense ratio. To mitigate downside risk and generate income, the fund actively manages a covered call strategy that is expected to write at or slightly out-of-the-money call options on up to 100% of the funds portfolio value. The strategy aims to generate attractive option premiums that increase cash flow for distribution and reinvestment, downside protection, and lower overall volatility of returns. The adviser reviews the portfolio on an ongoing basis and has full discretion to make buy, sell, and hold decisions at any time, including increasing or decreasing the percentage of options written. The fund will hedge 100% of its non-Canadian dollar currency exposure.
