The fund broadly invests in North American fixed-income securities while engaging in hedging strategies to manage volatility and risks. Using the managers proprietary framework, the fund aims to create a portfolio tilted towards investment-grade government and corporate bonds of Canadian and US issuers. The maximum threshold, however, are set for high-yield bonds at 25% and emerging market securities at 10%. Portfolio duration is managed through security selection and hedging instruments. The portfolio has at least 30% government securities. The fund could engage in securities lending, short selling, and use of derivatives for both hedging and non-hedging purposes. Additionally, the fund may repurchase and reverse repurchase transactions, as well as invest in other funds. As an actively managed fund, the managers have full discretion to adjust the portfolio at any time.
