The fund invests in CAD-denominated preferred shares listed on the TSX. The index includes investment-grade rate-reset preferreds with credit ratings of P3 or above Baa3. These securities must have a rate-reset frequency date of five years or less. The index uses a five-year laddered structure where five annual buckets are equal weighted while constituent securities within each bucket are market capitalization weighted. Each maturity bucket (except for the 0- and 5-year buckets) must consist of at least five preferred shares. The index is rebalanced monthly. The fund aims to hold preferreds in parallel proportions as they are reflected in the index.
