GOLD XAU SPX Physical gold is finally reshoring to America from London. Gold has performed in an inverse contango over the decades, where future prices are below the expected spot price. As a result, institutions have been making money off gold under the somewhat nonsensical assumption that gold should be stored in London. Given that inflation has occurred over the decades, the fact that gold's price has increased by less than tenfold since 1980 is almost a joke. If you had stocked a garage full of Coca-Cola instead of gold, you would have made more money.
