That suggests they’re still on standby, waiting for weather signals, grind data, or a supply shock before reloading. For now, I’m expecting a slow grind higher or sideways chop over the next 5 to 15 sessions, mixed with shakeouts to quietly accumulate contracts without increasing open interest. Until we get a new catalyst, the setup remains neutral. COCOA Thursday’s close showed the first shakeout, but it didn’t hit deep enough. With 8,850–8,700 still intact, another flush could come Friday. Funds aren’t directional, they’re using volatility to trap both sides. Panic is the tool. Illiquidity is the target. I expect a flat or light open, then a drop into support. If structure holds, a sharp NY close reversal could follow. Let’s see.
